This book changed my life when I was 13. I met the beats and they understood me. Norse, Ginsberg, William Carlos Williams, Kerouac. Amazing. I've read this cover to cover many times.
Can you believe that they actually teach Stephen King in universities these days?
Ahhh that explains itCyclin, my lad, you are much too young to know of the late great Jack Kerouac, the creator of the Beat generation. Hell, he was even before my time!
Well, I just bought my first rebuildable. God help me! Given that it came with a Lavatube and 2 18650 AWR batteries for $45 means it doesn't really matter if I screw things up.![]()

I tend to agree. That said, I greatly prefer his short stories to his novels. And the experts agree; he's generally included in courses covering Modern American Short Story authors.I'll be honest, I never cared much for Stephen king. He always makes me too aware that I am reading.
Anyone know how long the coupon is good for on customs?

No. But I do a pretty good cheat; cook a pound of pasta (I'm a purist so I do fettucine); drain and toss it back in the pot. Add a stick of butter, a cup of heavy cream and a goodly amount of Parmesan. Salt, pepper and you're good. In fact, I made this on Sunday to serve with my Chicken Piccata.Agreed on the king short stories!
Anybody know of a good alfredo sauce in a jar?
I agree. It's like he wrote his novels expecting them to be movies. Conversely, some of his best films came from his short stories. I mean, Stand by Me and Shawshank Redemption were much more powerful movies than Carry and Cujo, lol. I do have to admit to going back to "The Stand" time after time.
Does anyone have the pics from the july sale? It was the one with the crimson red pillars.... I have no idea when the sale was because I didn't get anything....
