On the flip side...
Two 3mm 6 wrap 26g nichrome cored Clapton's went in. And the nugget thumps it out. I fired and shaped them on the nugget and then took a few looong mech-eske drags and the nugget was flaming hot. It was giving everything it had. But it will put out. I literally had to open my front door you couldn't see across my kitchen...

Granted it's not a fair comparison because I don't have 32g Ti wire to build an equivalent coil. But nothing I could muster with the Ti came remotely close. Packed, spaced - not even on the map.

Reddog's experience with battery life is also mine. She's going, she's going... she's gone. If I wasn't beating the snot out of it at 50W and making it light fairly large hoops of wire perhaps it would fare better. (But that's no fun)

Temperature control aside. The atomizer check on wake up is the only annoyance I really have with it. It is nearly indistinguishable from a .275-.300ohm dual setup on a mech. (50W) Which says a lot for something that small.

If you were using it on something around 20W I bet you could get away with using it for a while.

Supp. I got the firmware update to work.
Version now displays as 100201603181.
It doesn't appear to be as new as the
100201603263 that I have on some of my
other ones, but it has SS TC, so if
that's what you've been waiting for
you're good to go.

I was able to create the cable using
parts that are widely available. Once
the cable was working, the update worked
exactly as described in the instructions.

You need a
(USB-A) to (2303) to (TTL breakout)
cable.
I used this.

You need a micro USB breakout board.
I used this.

The wires on the breakout cable are
color coded. The connectors on the
breakout board are clearly marked.

Now you need a way to connect the female
connectors at the end of the wires of
the breakout cable to the holes in the
breakout board. You could use header
pins (a set of 2 and a set of 3 will
populate the 5 connectors), but this
requires you to solder. I used clips
like the grey ones shown here. Be
creative, it only needs to work briefly.

Connect red (5V) to VCC.
Connect black (GND) to GND.
Connect green (TXD) to D+.
Connect white (RXD) to D-.
Leave the ID connector unpopulated.

Plug the micro USB connector into the
Nugget.

Plug the whole thing into the computer.

I used the 1.12.0 driver from the
Prolific site, but the 1.11.0 driver
provided with the update tool will
probably work too.

-----

For those of you who want to buy
something fully assembled and are
willing to order from China, you could
try this.

For those of you who want to buy
something fully assembled and want to
order from within North America, you
could try this, but you would have to
convert the mini to a micro.

Does anyone know the differences in the firmware versions? I received my cable from madvapes today and can confirm it does work and upgrades smoothly with the correct cable. I used ARTERY_NUGGET_USER_2016041501.bin since it seemed the newest one, just trying to find some kind of changelog or something and not really seeing anything anywhere. Just that they now package two different versions and according to the news post they had located at How to Upgrade the Nugget Box mod ?_Artery-Electronic cigarettes,E Cigaretets,E-cigs,Mods, Atomizer |Artery Vapor

•Beginning from March 19th,2016, we have updated our devices to support stainless steel TC function.
And now the software version number of 1002016031801/100201603263/ 100201604151 (THE ONE I USED) all support stainlees steel TC fuction.

guys, just wondering how are the mods holding up?
i'm interested in the nugget but worried about the reliability, after seeing so many complains about the mini volt

+1

I really want a mini-volt but I only vape in TC mode so the Nugget seems to be the next best thing.

Also, if anyone here has a copper version I would love to see some rl pics please :)

As far as quality I am about 2 weeks into use of my nugget and getting occasional "weak battery" messages at half a charge or more. Not the low voltage (low battery) message, but one thats not even listed on the manual. Just curious if this is common, can be fixed, and what it is indicitive of. Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Official cable is now available to wholesalers from wholesalevapingsupply. Can't see how much they're charging without an account.

So they don't even supply the cable needed with the device? That's a big fail imo.

How are your devices holding up so far? I want to order one of these but I need some more feedback before I pull the trigger.

And just as an FYI, that font you use makes your posts pretty difficult to read imo. You should do as you please of course but I wish you'd just stuck to the regular font.

I second this curiosity - I'd love to get my hands on a small SS TC mod!

Has anyone found a reputable source for the upgrade cables (Which, yes, should be supplied)

From the lack of response it appears this little guy doesn't get much love here on ECF, which makes me wonder it might not be all that good.

On top of that they just sold the last copper version they had at 3avape that I had my eyes on :(

Still considering the brass version, but I'm starting to think it might not be for me.

Please let us know how you like it if you do end up getting one though.

If I do, I will, but I'm trying to get more info on it (and on how to get an update cable) first.

My acquisition-syndrome just got the upper hand & suddenly I have a black one on the way..

It's taking the slow-boat from China though, so it'll probably be at least a week or two/three before I get it.

I'll be back!
