What always kills me are the statistics that state that very few vapors ever quit smoking. I look around here and would guess that well over half of the members have quit.

Check out This Briefing Document that was linked to in a post elsewhere. In section 1.3 , it cites a U.K. survey suggesting there are 2.1 million ecig users, with 700,000 being ex smokers and 1,300,000 dual users. That implies about a 1/3 quit rate of all ecig users, and surely many of those 2/3 dual users have never intended to quit or tried very hard.

I agree; I get PO'd when I read things suggesting the quit rate using eCigs is very low. Stalinist lies at it's worst. Anyone that vapes or knows a bunch of people that vape know the quit rate is very high.

A 1/3 quit rate, or 33%, is still about 3 times better than the MOST optimistic interpretation of quit rates using any other form of NRT.

Come on people. Two wrongs do not make a "right". Even though I've now been an (accidental) ex-smoker for well over a year, I would never, ever, vilify a current smoker, or someone who happened to be obese, or any other portion of the population that was truly affecting only themselves with their actions.

OK, you're a turn the other cheek guy. I'm not, and I think it is high time to make clear the rudeness that has become so acceptable today. Those people don't get subtle. Maybe if they see themselves in a mirror they will get it.

I agree with you. I would never ever just walk up to a total stranger and berate them that their weight or whatever they're doing isn't good for them, because that's just RUDE. But if someone does that to me...? They opened the door; they better be prepared for what comes thru it. That's just KARMA.
