Hey, Holly.

I can relate. After almost 50 years of smoking 1-2 PAD of Marlboro Red 100's. I bought an NJOY kit at 7/11. I'd tried everything except a straight jacket to quit. It wasn't the nicotine because I could smoke a PAD while on a 21mg patch. Yeah, I know...slap me around, but only those who have never done it.

I found that the habit was 90% behavioral for me. It was romance, my crutch, my friend, the instant pleasure of a throat hit, my reward, my cure for boredom, and my security blanket (if I missed anything please feel free to add to the list).

I bought the NJOY at a 7/11 on 1/17/11 and haven't had an analog since. That is truly a miracle. My love/hate relationship is over.

I went from NJOYs to Breathe Fresh and found ECF when refill cartos got too expensive.

After my head stopped spinning from information overload I went to Joye 510's and juice samplers. I just got a Riva 510 SE kit and WOW am I in love now. Great vaping and throat hit. What an upgrade.

The members of this forum are all more than willing to help and to answer any questions you might have. There is a defined learning curve, so hang in there, keep asking questions, and look for reviews before you order...you will save time and money.

Good luck in your new adventure

Hi everyone - I'm new to this site (as in I just joined an hour ago). I'm sure all you "veterans" have heard this a million times before, but to say the e-cig world is overwhelming is an understatement. My search began a few days ago and I almost have a headache from every link, article, ad, comment, etc. that's out there on the internet. Can't even recall how I ended up here but this seems to be the place I need to be.

I've navigated around quite a bit on this site already and done some searches, but I figure a quick post might be the way to go. I initially thought about purchasing an e-cig from GreenSmoke but after reading all the posts here, I've decided against it. What I wanted to know is whether anyone has heard of "Breathe Fresh" - I located an article (top5electroniccigarettes.com) and it listed them as the #1 brand. Thoughts? I've read alot about the kr808 here but wanted some input from you guys.

Some background - I have been smoking for 10 years....Marlboro Menthol 100s (love the taste) and I usually smoke around 6 or 7 cigarettes a day. I know that doesn't sound like a lot to some people, but it is to me. Plus, I'm tired of the coughing and other health issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Not sure what "normal threads" vs. "sticky threads" on the New Members Forum are, plus not sure I'm replying in the right place. If I'm doing this wrong, please let me know and redirect me. Don't want to offend anyone. Just need help as I'm so nervous about this whole new "world" of e-cigs. Thank you!

ibytoohi & classwife - Thanks for taking the time to reply and share your experiences. Much appreciated.
Caligirl - if these thots are still relevant to you - at that low a number of smokes a day, I wouldn't obsess to much. Just get a half decent brand like a K808 or whatever it's called. Then some nic juice and some other flavors that appeal and I think you'll be good to go. I've tried a Menthol juice with nic and - even though I'm not and haven't been since childhoold - a menthol smoker, I'm really enjoying that juice. BIG surprise to me. Don't know anything about Breathe Fresh so can't advise there. Hope you are moving along the path and doing well now. I'll check out your subsequent posts since June.

After having received (and read copious amount of) help and information, I finally took the big step to ordering something. It ended up being a Bauway Ego T tank kit from CdnVapors. The kit included 2 Batteries, 2 Atomizers, a 5 pack of empty cartridges, a USB Plug, and wall adapter (wall rodent as lol calls them  ) and I ordered 8 bottles of assorted juice. All told including shipping about $128 CAD. In comparison it costs me $67.00 for a carton of Next Blue Kings at Costco so if this cuts my smoking in half, I break even in less than a month. Anything else is gravy.

This is only my 2nd day but my analog smoking is considerably less. At least half and perhaps more. I'm trying to keep a 'log' of sorts without becoming .... about it. There were a few bumps and grinds due lack of info provided at the outset but I think I've got most all together now. Thus far I've totally enjoyed vaping - even menthol which - as I said above - I haven't smoked for an eon. I have quite a lot of 24mg juice but think that some of it may go on the PIF list as I'm actually finding it pretty strong. I'll wait a few days yet to decide on that.

I'll make the effort to update this 'what's happening' thing every once in a while to hopefully be of help to future newbies.

TYSVM for all your support.
Ciao Holly

Welcome Holly;
I was a pad smoker and like you I tried many ways to quit, gum, candy, nic losanges, relaxatin therapy-simulr to hipnosis but you are concuss through the whole thing and mall varaity e-cigs with expensive "tobacco" flavored cartos. (I have tried many tobacco flavors and haven't found one that tastes like a cig.) nothing worked. In March I visited a friend who gave me his starter kit (3 ego battery, attys, some good flavored juice) and told me about ECF. I jouned and 2 days later I was free! Never looked back. I think that it is more than the nic, at least for me, I needed the action and something to do with my hands to.
PS sorry about the spelling but I am to tired to fix it. :)

I feel like a bit like I'm hijacking the thread here, but I have a few e-cig suggestions for you.

If you need something that looks like a cigarette, consider the Volt from Smokeless Image. It's very much like a Bloog that the OP purchased, but it's better priced. There are lots of options for this kit.

Consider a model that's bigger. If you're ok with something about the size of a Sharpie, consider the Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights. You might like the low-resistance cartomizers you can put on the Riva 510 or similar big battery (650 mAh or better) models.

As far as battery life goes, the Volt is probably fine for someone who smokes 6 or 7 cigarettes a day. But, you can get more flavor and throat hit from the Riva 510 with low-resistance atomizers. I think you'll like either system.

    Does this help?

You might be interested in trying the Boge LR cartomizers with your kit. Anyway, good luck with your purchase and your wall wart/rodent. :)
