Ashma/Nebulizers And E-Cigs

I Have had ashma my whole life, i also smoked most of my life (started when i was 11 quit when i was 23 thanks to e-cigs). I Still have ashma obviously and had an ashma attack away from the house the other day, i had albuterol sulfate for my nebulizer in my car and decided to try putting it in a cartomizer to try to replicate the nebulizer's effects...

I found out that Albuterol Sulfate in a very small amount can be added to my cartomizer/e-liquid and it can help stop an ashma attack. I Only rarely have ashma attacks (mainly from being around Dogs) but i was very suprised when adding some albuterol sulfate to a cartomizer that had 0 mg flavorless e-liquid in it that my ashma attack went away within a minute or so.

That is interesting. I don't have asthma myself but what's the advantage of using an ecig instead of a nebulizer? Not dissing your choice here, just curious.

Hey, that's pretty cool! I've thought about whether this was possible, glad it worked for you. I guess some drawbacks would be that the stuff could be expensive and not that easy to get (requires prescription), and I'm not sure what happens to the chemicals when exposed to red-hot coils.
But the advantage could be that you would only have to carry a cartomizer with albuterol rather than a bulky nebulizer.

Theres no real advantage, except maybe that if push comes to shove and you dont have a nebulizer around, or dont have a outlet to plug in a nebulizer but happen to have the medicine like i did. that it may work to use your e-cig to deliver the albuterol like it did for me, only done this once so i can not say its completely 100% proof that it works everytime or anything, but it definitelly did work for me.

I Dont think that it being exposed to a coil is a problem, and i did make sure there was other e-liquid in there, it was 0 mg flavorless though, but overall albuterol sulfate is mostly water with a little medicine, so i would think that exposing it to a heating element should not be a problem... wonder if any medical professionals could chime in to give some insight on the subject lol.

Daring. I don't think I would ever try that. Heat can fundamentally change the chemistry of some molecules. I don't know what effect it could have on albuterol though. The suspension fluid in your inhaler probably has some PG in it as well, but there is no heat acting as the vaporization catalyst in that device.

Maybe the result was placebo effect?
