There have been many many discussions on the DIY boards about steeping. With there being no substitute for time being the constant, sometimes you run out. I.E. I had to wait on a shipment that I was a little lazy on ordering and mixed the day it came.
In your opinion as a chemist if we need to try to speed up a liquid after mix what would you recommend to do or not do?

The best steep is going to come from natural methods. So if you are in a hurry, take advantage of the summer and put the newly mixed bottle in the windshield of your car for about an hour or so. This will give you both heat and sunlight. If it is a cloudy, cool day then I would put the bottle in a hot water bath for about an hour or two (changing the water out occasionally to keep it hot). And lastly, I have done it a couple times but I DO NOT recommend this method, some people pop it in the microwave for 10-15 sec.

Vapin Chemist,
I recently learned that kanthal wire is a tobacco product. How is it made?
The reason that kanthal will soon be classified at a tobacco product is because it will be "reasonably expect" to be used with vaping products which are going to be classified at a tobacco product.

As for the question, Kanthal A1 is a metal alloy comprised of iron, chromium, and aluminum.

Also, if your post was farce, please ignore the response. :)

So funny you say the car. I thought I was the only one "lazy like that" lol. Summer or winter I have on numerous occasions put a bottle on my defroster. I have about an hour drive to work, cut the defroster on low heat and go. The driving shakes it and the defroster should not get hot enough to risk nic damage. Maybe I'm smarter than I thunk lol.

Because of the effort being put out in this thread by you, if I have a need to place another order again which is doubtful, I will be taken a very good look at your company products.
Thanks for the kind words mightymen, I am trying to be as active and helpful as I can.

I told myself I'm not gonna buy any more nic. Been weaning myself off. I'm down to 1% about to go to 1/2% then to zero - vaping doesn't sound as fun with zero nic :(
But shoot, what if I change my mind? I have enough for at least a year at 1% or 1/2% Grrrrrrr, I think I may go ahead a place an order. If I don't use it, so be it. At least I'll have it. Chemist, you rock ! So enjoy reading all the Q n A's here.

Thanks for checking it out @Steelgirl! You won't be dissapointed with the quality, and if you decide not to use it anymore I'm sure our friends in the DIY section would take it off your hands! lol :)

I'm getting ready to break a couple of RTS 100mg liters in the freezer down into glass, and have a few more liters coming in. I plan to store those for a few years or more, and saw that one supplier is adding ascorbic acid to nic claiming it ......s oxidation. Do you think it would be beneficial for me to add it before breaking them down into glass?

Since we are still in the development stage it is hard to say what ALL of the features will be, but one big plus for some people will be the ability to use a significant number of flavor concentrates without running out of spots.

As I get confirmation on new features I will leak them here first.
Thanks for all of your help!

Any chance the calculator will be iOS-compatible? There's nothing available for that platform. :(

They are probably saying that because ascorbic acid oxidizes very easily and my educated guess is that it would oxidize first over the nicotine. However, with that said, I would not add it to my nicotine because it can breakdown into diketones.

Yes! It will be compatible with all platforms because it will be a web-based calculator hosted on our website.

Thank you for the insight! I won't say it's a gimmick, but it's definitely something I won't want in my nic.
