If you overfill next time, twist some tissue and stick in the cart to absorb the access juice. A manual is sealed so probaly juice didn't go down in the batt.

If it's on a manual....No. The center post hole on a manual is really more of a round indent and as Maxwell said it does not go through to the battery. This is why they are recommended for juice users. It can happen with Autos, but I have never killed a battery from a little leaking juice.

When you do overfill on an auto, just wipe it down, blow out the Carto, and wipe down the threads in the Carto. A trick I use is to take a piece of paper towel and a toothpick. Place the paper towel over the batt connector, then press it into the indented ring around the center post and work it around a couple of times. You'll notice some greenish black goo will come out.

These batteries are amazingly durable, if you spilled a lot of juice on an Auto just turn it upside down after you wipe it down, I also like the computer air idea, just make you do it while it is upside down...smart thinking Marine13. Best thing to do is never put a freshly refilled Carto on a battery unless you have checked it first.

How are juicing your Cartos.....condom method?

I use the coolcarts with the condom fill method and take the rubber tip off to see inside while filling. A standard part of my refilling is the use of a straightened out paper clip to slide all the way through the center hole from both sides sliding it back and forth, it really helps keep the hole from plugging up and helps the draw a lot. It makes it possible to get many more refills.

Got juice on the batt? You aren't leaving the carto on the battery when you refill are you? Not recommended.

I used to refill with auto's all the time, just have to make sure to blow them out really good before use. The best is to blow them battery end in your mouth into a paper towel. I never had any problems.

Agree, if you know that juice can gunk up your battery, then you'll know to just be careful to make sure all access juice is wiped up and the carto is clean and not leaking, being able to look thru the hole, etc. I do like to start a refill on a manual if possible, but certainly if you're careful you don't have to. (the batt won't like short circuit and probably won't suddenly stop working, but if you get enuff juice inside it it will dry and stick the auto detector and just slowly ruin the batt. I have one that the detector is stuck or otherwise not working. If I blow in and out it will be good for 2 puffs then die. Then suck and blow - 2 puffs then death, over and over. It just won't get unstuck. Perfectly good batt otherwise, just a shame to have to put it up and watch it gather dust).

That sounds like an experimental battery now, Max :) I used to love taking things apart when I was a kid, just to see how it worked, lol.

Yeah, I am really careful to make sure I wipe the battery end, and can see through the hole after I fill them. I usually let them stand there a while (battery end up) just to make sure that everything has "settled". I clean the batts about once a week - wipe down the threads, and swab out the center hole as best I can...there's always a little "yuck" there, even though I'm careful.

I'm still hoping the gunk will loosen up and release the detector, but it will be taken apart if that don't happen pretty soon. I already took an old broken PT apart. ;)

I've had good luck soaking them in a shot glass half full of rubbing alcohol over night, as the alcohol evaporates it loosens and removes the gunk.

I thought of that right away, then read never soak the whole batt, just up to the threads. You've done thsis? I spose it won't hurt anything - lol. I'll try it. It might be a malfunctioning valve, I have no way of telling. I'm guessing it's stuck. It worked for a month before it stopped working. Thnx.

Hi All,
I don't DIY and only use V4L Carts but I have a couple of small bottles of V4L juices that are a 24 nic level. I usually use 36 and would like to know if any of you folks can advise me as to how to add more nic to the 24 to make it a 36? I hate to toss the juice even though it's a smaller amount. I would appreciate any advice. Specifically, what I need to know is what nic to buy(and maybe where) and how much to add to the juice to raise it. I've read a lot of good stuff from this forum but couldn't find what I need. Thanks so much.

Actually, you could just add 12% of 100% nicotine to a bottle of 24mg to make it 36mg. Or buy a bottle of 11mg from V4L of same flavor and add it to your own bottle to make 60ml of 35%, which would be safer and easier if ya ask me. 100% nic can be dangerous to work with.

Or send it all to me, I use 24% :) j/k
