vape cane--well, it's no more far fetched than a vape cell phone.

skull cracker :)
Not only that, but the point on the end is great for breaking the windshields of motorists who buzz me when I'm walking slowly across a crosswalk (DO NOT jaywalk with a cane).:)
Oh man that's nice! I almost ordered the Dr House one. Tried to find the scary one from The Storm of the Century movie. No luck. Ended up getting one in the French Quarter in New Orleans from Africa. It's so cool. It has a carved bird head from a Watusi bull on the tip.
Mine's for balance too.
Sounds too cool--you should post a pic.
You don't have a shotgun on the inside of that thing do you? ;)
No. They x ray it at the airport.
One of my co-workers wanted me to order a shillelagh. Now THAT's a skull cracker. Geez
You can buy both blackthorn canes and shillelaghs from Fashionable Canes. They have the "House" canes, too.

If you can play guitar even a little, you can learn "Bad To The Bone" and impress everybody who doesn't know how to play guitar. Another good one is "I Drink Alone". I do love the Delaware Destroyer.

I got through my client meeting OK. I also answered an email. I'll see what step I can take Monday. Thanks, all!

I cannot remember a long enough sequence of anything to play music. Tried a few times. Had a nice Martin and a Stratocaster. Gave them both away.

Actually, I do play guitar. Well, played. Before I busted up my left pinky. You know, the one you need for the bottom string? I have 2 guitars here, a piano, a keyboard, flute, drum set and a fiddle. Too much stuff.
So happy to hear you are on your way. Great job!

Just get some bongos and have at it. Listen to the music and tap on them. Have fun with it. That's what it's about.
You could also learn to read music and play on a keyboard. You don't need a memory for that.

That's why sheet music and tabs exist. I remember lots of lyrics, but frequently need tabs for my leads.
I would also stress highly to any beginner to NOT start with an acoustic guitar. Learn how to play with a solid body electric first. But probably not a Strat. A lot of guitarists buy them, but never use the tremolo. Better to not have it if you're not going to use it.
I wouldn't really recommend any particular instrument to someone unless I knew more about them, but probably the best beginner guitar that I have ever seen is this--the Parker PDF30:

But seriously, if you or anyone else here wants to learn and doesn't have an instrument, PM me. My other obsession is guitars, and I have so many that I'm running out of places to put them.

upload_2015-9-11_17-19-34.png I'm home now taxguydave so I took a picture of my cane. Excuse the dirt driveway - I live out in the sticks.
Now....if you look at it, and decide it's really just a knock-off, and not really from Africa, DON'T tell me. I'm happy thinking it's the real deal. lol

Thanks. Hey, if I can play with Parkinson's, you can play with a bad pinky. ;) Django Reinhardt learned to play guitar because he lost one finger and two others fused together on his left hand, as the result of a fire. So why did he learn to play guitar? Because he couldn't play violin with the bad hand. For anyone not familiar with him, many consider Reinhardt to be one of the best, if not the best, guitarist to ever live.

Looks like the real deal to me. How is that handle for comfort? For me, that's the biggest problem with canes--the handle.
