Don't know what you mean exactly? ... I have heard that aspies have problems sometimes with face recognition. I have never had that problem myself..... You do not have to have that particular trait to be and aspie.
yeah there is something called "face blindness". And I am sure that there are many differences in people with any mental affliction.
I suppose remembering names is sort of like memorizing stuff.

yeah I coded a small desktop application once that I designed to help people in remembering the State Capitals..... Writing the program helped me learn all of those things as well. Of course that was some time back and I am sure I have forgotten a few capital cities by now.

For some strange reason I do very well at geography. Sucked at math but had to get better at it for programming. And all the english rulz? just no way to keep them in my head.
electronics has been my main vocation. But I had to keep an ohms law cheat sheet in my wallet for all the transpositions. I could just remember a couple of the variations and would have to re-figure things if the variables did not match the formula variations I could remember. RF propagation, etc gave me fits. I can visualize it all very well and understand it but the details/formulas....
I can still build a CPU from 7400 series chips and a rom... Set reset latched registers from 7400 dual input NAND gates, etc
all just basically AND, OR and shift.

I could remember some of the formulas in my head. I suppose I was fortunate in those regards. My problem was I was always trying to rearrange the known formulas in order to discover something new (weird or what?) I have always been fascinated (even to this day) with things that are unseen....things like magnetic, gravitational, electrostatic, and dark energy... I often catch myself pondering upon these things.... Not exactly what most people would call romantic lol

going to go look for the aspie test.
DAmN! Tried 2 tests and it is either me or the crappy tests, hit next on one ant it said something about me starting 2 tests.
Tried another one and it wanted address phone number and name of first born to email me the results. I lied about the firstborn thing ;)
    hell with them.

Can you walk up to someone in the outside and talk to them or respond quickly to someone who talks to you ?
If so you don't have it to the extent that I am familiar with.

Ohh I am not a total social cripple. And can mostly function in this messed up world. You are likely thinking of Aspergers like I did just 1 day ago before I joined this thread and did some research on the web. Sorry if i offend anyone with this but prior to yesterday I thought of Aspies as ......s. I now have a much broader understanding which is still far from a real good understanding.
Am I comfortable with just talking to a stranger? No way. Can I respond correctly in all situations? No way. Does it stress me out? Hell yes.

Does having no favorite this or that follow Aspergers? When someone asks me who my favorite musician, actor, movie, etc is I have no answer....
I have no heroes nor do I follow any groups, just no pack mentality at all.

No it follows how many of those things you have experienced and your ability to form a favourite.

Well, I am half ......ed, so you had that correct :) The way I see this whole thing is that we are stupid at certain things and about using certain portions of our mind, mainly social things. On the other hand, there are areas where some of us are very gifted at, way beyond what the norm is.

No offense but you edited in the brother thing and that is how I thought of all Aspergers suffers before yesterday.

Yes Brother was diagnosed in 1996 after spending weeks in a hospital.
mentioned it in the other thread where AXIOM_1 was.

His entire life is controlled by it and he can't interact with anyone other than family in the outside world.

Which is why that before yesterday I had no idea that I might have some degree of aspergers. I did not think that one with aspergers could manage to function in a job, and society in general.

Some of them are that way...it just depends upon the severity and where you fall within the autistic spectrum....... But there are those who are "high functioning" which means they are limited in Certain aspects, like social behavior, but they excel in lots of other areas. Most people who have adult Asperger's are high functioning.

    Not at all Rob :)

Never really come across anyone else in the wild who has it, or until recently that many on the internet.
I am somewhat suspicious that some Dr's maybe saying people with any type of anxiety have it.

Yes my brother can't go to a checkout with a cashier and buy something but he can tell me what he had for lunch five years ago.

While I support anyone in learning more about themselves and getting help with problems...

I want to caution against online tests and to some extent form-based psychiatry. Lots of people fill out their form - get something along the lines of "close but no cigar" for several different diagnoses - and pick the closest. For some it may be of help - borderline enlightening. For others it may only present obstacles, not solutions.

If you want a good psychiatrist, find yourself one who is not about forms, formalities, diagnoses and medications.

Some psychiatrists these days seem to throw dice in the autism spectrum whenever they get a patient they can't connect with.
    I'll second that.
An online test may help point you in the right direction though.
Talking with a pro is always a great idea though.
