It's scary sometimes living around people, too. I remember the first time I took my son for a walk outside our home (he was ~12 mo-old), and we ended up in in the line of fire of a drive-by shooting.

Are there any good guy gangs to join around there?

Around here in the sticks where I live people just shoot family members and estranged spouses/dating partners.
In the big city now they shoot strangers.

Even in big cities, most shooting the shooter and shootee know eachother.

OK, those are some reasons I'm glad that I live in MN. I haven't even seen so much as a garter snake for years. We don't have leprosy-carrying armadillos, either.

(Sorry, just trying to rationalize why I live in a state that regularly gets to -40 and has five-month winters).

You rationalize why you live anywhere.
It's subjective.

yeah, seems to be the case in my neighborhood. And the lack of manners among people who purchase drugs. Why can't they just go up to the dealer's door and knock, instead of pulling up in the middle of the night and honking? Sheesh.
