Just picked up the atlantis today and it's nowhere near what I was expecting. I use a dna 30 and with the nautilus (1.8 ohm coils) I got nice flavorful hits and was satisfied with the clouds I'd exhale. This is running at 10 watts.
I screwed in the atlantis (.6) and it just doesn't feel like I'm getting nearly as "thick" of a hit. Hardly any cloud. Any idea what the issue is? Should I be cranking up the wattage to get it where I was with my nautilus?
Any help is greatly appreciated

The Atlantis needs to be vaped between 20 and 30 watts. The experience will be terrible under 20 watts. Some people take it even higher if their mod allows to 35-40 with great results. You're definitely not giving it enough power. Also, did you wash the tank out thoroughly with soap and water? That makes sure no factory chemicals make their way into the flavor. I got my Atlantis recently on an IPV Mini and at 30 watts it's amazing.

10 watt's is 10 watt's typically. With that being said most people I come across with the atlantis have had lot's of problem even when attached to the aspire battery designed for it. I honestly had no interest in a sub-ohm tank as I have personally failed at that same attempt on multiple rebuildable tanks. They never seem to quite wick fast enough for the shortened heat up times and dry hit constantly. My buddy has been experiencing this with his atlantis from the start.

If it isn't suppling enough liquid to the coil fast enough your not going to get much vapor production and will eventually get dry hits as you up the power supplied to the coils.

Is your buddy using 100% VG juice? If so, that's why. You should only really use 70/30 or higher PG or the wick wont keep up. It's a fantastic tank but there are some nuances.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. Just started messing around with 25 to 30 watts range. Definitely more flavor... But with my old setup it was like there was just more vapor. Nowhere near the same cloud production I got running the 1.8 ohm coils at 10 watts. It's almost like it's a less dense vapor coming out with a hotter feeling in the throat. Nothing like the "thick juicy" vape I'm used to.

That shouldn't be the case. What air hole are you vaping on? If I had to guess you're probably running the smallest hole which will in turn give you less vapor production.

I just got the Atlantis with a ZNA 50 clone a couple days ago and it is a different beast then what I was used to and I am still learning how to use it. A couple things they told me was to try for more of a lung inhale and that I would probably want to lower my nic level from 18 to 12. I'm working on the lung hit and I picked up some of my favorite juice at 12 mg nic. I tried that juice and the same thing in 18 nic and the 12 seems to work much nicer without any indication of the drop. I figure that is a double win......better vape and clouds and lowering the nic level. Might be worth a try for you.

That's strange. I'm vaping 80VG and almost 100VG in an Atlantis (.5 ohm) on my Hana 40 at 25 watts and I don't think I can get it to dry hit. AF is wide open. It's not as good as my Lemo but it's sure convenient.

Open the Atlantis to the largest air intake hole. its like 12 feet wide.

Crank the wattage to 25Watts.

Suck on it like your sucking a golf boll through a straw for 10 sec.

Exhale!!!

I am running the Atlantis on the CF Mod battery with Sony VTC4's in and its like a portable cloud bank!

I am only on the hole one up from smallest as well.

When you set up did you make sure that the wicking holes are visible or are they covered by the tangs?

With the holes visible you should get lovely wicking and good vapour.

By wicking holes/tangs I assume you mean where the atomizer connects to that castle tower looking bit? If that's the case they are covered, I'll give it a turn.
Other than that I've been messing around and I think my initial problem was running on a low charge.
Now I think it's mostly just a matter of preference.
With the largest air hole open and running at 28 watts I get a massive hit with a decent cloud to follow. A few hits then almost has me buzzed off the nicotine. I quit smoking when I switched to vaping several months ago and use 24 MG juice. I'm sure switching to a lower nic level would solve this. But I'm wondering if the atlantis' s small tank and significant increase to battery usage is even worth it to me for the minor increase in flavor and vapor.
I think I'll get some low nic juice and keep this around the house for when I feel like becoming a human fog machine. As far as an everyday alternative to cigarettes though, I'll stick with the nautilus.

That much nicotine mutes the flavor of the juice. Go with 6mg or even 3mg, youll get more juice flavor and bigger lung hits.

Thanks all. Being new to the Atlantis, I am getting some good advice here as well. I agree with KGB7. The shop suggested I drop from 18 to 12 on my nic, so picked up a few bottles. When I got home, I realized one bottle they sold me was 6 nic. After trying with the 12, I decided to give the 6 a try and oh my! It took this thing to a whole new level. I can now handle a much longer pull at a higher voltage (25). Going to give it some time there and then try it a bit higher. Just playing around now with voltage and air hole openings to get to the best settings. All is good! :vapor:
