Aspire Mininova BDC won't fire on Ego Twist

Hey guys, subject says it all. I just received an Aspire Mininova BDC clearo and it worked fine for about a half hour on my ego twist. I took it off a few times and now when it's connected I press the button and all it does is blink. Take the clearo off and the butten stays lit. I tried pulling up both centerpins but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Any advice?

Scratch that, i pulled the pin and got it to work but now it's letting off a very burnt taste. What's going on here? It was working fine out of the box.
