Okay I vape 6mg cheap Hangseng juices in the day on an EVOD and pleasure vape 0mg gourmet juices (Space Jam, Suicide Bunny) juices on a subtank at night as cannot vape nic at night or don't sleep.

I use a COOLFIRE 4 for the subtanks and an EGO battery for the evods.

After vaping even my cheap Hangseng juices on my subtank with the 1.2ohm coil I can now NO LONGER GO BACK TO AN EVOD.

On an evod Hangseng RY4 tastes like stale steam. Pop it in the subtank at 1.2ohms and around 14 watts and WOW you can taste it as it is described - caramel, tobacco, vanilla, man it's gorgeous, I had no idea a cheap juice could taste so good!

So... Look the subtanks are great, no dry hits, awesome vapour and flavour BUT - THEY TEAR THROUGH JUICE and I cannot afford do that all day long! They are for night, a tank a day for pure pleasure.

So I want a tank that is less powerful than a subtank but better than an EVOD for my daytime cheaper juice all day vaping.

The guy at the local BnM says I am describing perfectly the Aspire nautilus mini with the 1.6ohm BVC coils and NOT with the 1.8 coils.

I tried it and he had 70VG/30PG Suicide Bunny juice in it and wow, great performer, so I imagine it would handle my 80PG/20VG Hangsen juices fine and outperform an EVOD.

Was he right? Is the Nautilus the perfect compromise between a juice guzzler like the subtank and a muted flavour, whispy vapour starter tank like the EVOD?

It is a well reviewed tank and he is selling out of them all the time as they are his best seller and internet reviews are good too.

Does this sound right for me? Are some of the problems I read about eventually having to use pliers to remove the base that serious or can it be avoided just by being careful? What about those 1.6ohm BVC dual coils - are they good with cheaper PG heavy liquids?

Are they low maintenance and better than the cheaper tanks like geni tanks and protanks etc...?

I have to decide today - I need a second tank for work and for my cheaper ADV juices and this is looking like the main contender and I do not want to go over that price point either.

Cheers

I owned a Nautilus and really liked it, great flavor but only a 2ml capacity. There is little practical difference between the 1.8 and 1.6 ohms coils.
I regards to tearing through juice: Vapor is produced by vaporizing e-liquid, the more vapor you produce the more juice is going to be consumed, regardless of the device. Turn down the wattage if you want to economize.

Hey there @Hotwire

I still use my Nautilus Mini every day (check my sig :p) and I have used it with Hangsen juices (coffee, and Cherry Cola) with great results. I personally like the 1.6 ohm coils because the seem to run a bit higher than advertised... I've had 1.8 Ohm coils read (across multiple devices) 2.0 Ohms. So I get the 1.6Ohm coils and they usually fall between 1.6 and 1.8.

Pros - great flavor and good vapor production for a standard tank, spring loaded 510, coils are relatively cheap

Cons - small capacity (compared to the OG Nautilus at 5ml), flavors seem to stick for a lot longer if switched in the middle of a coil, can be impossible to unscrew without the use of some rubber/grip material

I agree on all counts, with the exception that the tank should not be so hard to unscrew. When screwing on the base, grip it by the air flow control ring and just turn until the ring starts popping from one air hole to the next. At that level of torque, I have never needed gripping material to open the tank.

I never did when I first got mine (I even bought another one a few months later). But even keeping it loose after I fill it, it seems to just tighten right back up and I need to use some shelf liner to get it open again :( Worth the effort though, and hasn't caused any long term damage.

Slightly damp paper towel can work well, too.

Well I bought a Nautilus Mini. Using the 1.8 BVC coil.

This is IT.

This is what I have been searching for in vaping since 2009.

Dripping is great but I could never do it on the go or be bothered to do it at home half the time.

EGO type stuff, ego-t / ego-c / cartos / clearos / evods = junk. They produce at best a sort of stale tasting whispy steam that you have to strain for. Okay if you want to vape 24mg liquid, the th alone will stop you in your tracks but for flavour and vape production they really do suck. They paved the way for where we are now, so they deserve their respect, but they are not great and you will only taste a quarter of how your juice really tastes and is supposed to taste.

The subtanks, well they do what it says on the tin - massive plumes of warm thick vapour BUT I found the draw, the lung inhale, frustrating, too much vape at one time to savour it on the inhale and the drip tips too wide. Only taste the juice on the exhale and no sense of a fulfilling inhale. Plus they just simply guzzle up TOO MUCH JUICE TOO FAST.

NOW THE NAUTILUS MINI - Oh man, this is the one. I'm vaping zero nicotine Hansgeng RY4 which I knew could be good as I dripped it once. On my evod it was just rank and the subtank runs it a bit too hot and the straight to lung ihale draw like I said - is not to my liking.

I'm sitting here puffing away at 12.5 watts on my coolfire 4 (the ego battery and evod will be hidden away with a 10ml bottle of juice for extreme emergencies, like if all my other gear fails or I have to flee fast from zombies) and am getting thick plumes of vapour which taste just as good as on the subtanks but is just the right amount that I can mouth to lung and really enjoy the taste on the inhale and exhale and even exhale through my nose while taking a fresh mouth inhale. It's like an EVOD on steroids. And this is a juice that costs £10 for 40ml, I have seen in the local BnM that these can handle thicker VG gourmet juices also.

It's guzzling juice at half the rate of the subtank but the vapour is just as good! Done over 1ml so far and not one dry hit.

I have to say I actually wish I had have bought two Nautilus Mini's instead of a subtank and a nautilus. The subtank is overkill, but I need two tanks on the go so can have more than one juice to try on any one day.

Will see how well this is getting on in a week's time and if no hassle, will buy another one and relegate the subtanks for emergencies.

This tank is excellent. I see how people over tighten them, but you don't need to. The o-ring is so generous I have found you can tighten it to where it doesn't even look tightened at the base and then I took a leap of faith and turned it right way up - and no leaks. It doesn't need tightening further than the first tiniest bit of resistance.

I'm well happy with this tank so far.

Well I'm really liking the Nautilus mini. Can take it up to 20W with 50/50 juice and great vaping.

BUT - once you've gone subtank and sub ohm though, even the nautilus feels and tastes sort of 'watery...' I've learned how to draw on the subtank in a way that I like now. The hotter vape does taste better and feels more 'toasty.'

I like the vape on the nautilus though and will use it for work or night out but for pure at home freaky pleasure, .5ohm coil at 30W - 35W in the subtank nano does beat it for intensity and flavour. If you're happy with a Nautilus, just stay with it as I reckon once you go subtank and experience that warmth - there's no going back...

I'll try the Nautilus with the 1.6ohm coils too and see how that is, the guy at the vape shop say they perform better than the 1.8's, bit warmer.

Yeah good for ADV but not as nice as subtanking for pure pleasure. But that subtank rips through the juice twice as fast...

It's a great tank no doubt. It is also the tank that got me to give up smoking. Reliable, leak free, great coils, great taste, great vapour. Only tank that comes close for me is the gas air m (gs tank on the way from fasttech)l

No problems here with removing the base. Coils have been been kind to me. And I think it looks great, love that retro Sherlock holmes syringe style.

A tip if you have the spare glass tube, you can buy the top and bottom hardware fairly cheap direct from aspire. If you throw in some coils to cover postage costs, it can give you a second nautilus cheap, and save on a spare glass tube just sitting there.

I have the mini and full size, the full size came with a spare tube, I had bought the t shape metal tube for the mini, for less than the cost of a new tank I bought relevant top and bottom hatdware and got two more naughties!

For none cloud chasing liquids eg Nets it beats the subtank nano for me. If you are going heavy vg and sweet liquids then the subtank nano can be better. It all depends how you vape I guess...

I started with an EVOD, liked it while it got me away from the nic sticks. Then I got the Nautilus mini and the subtank nano. I have moved through them exactly like you, so I know what you are saying. I have moved on to some other rebuildable tanks like the Crown and TFv4, and like said earlier, once you go sub you never go back... mostly. I still puff on the nautilus sometimes when I want to use my favorite overpriced premium juice. Word of warning - the nautilus mini will burn through coils FAST with higher VG juice. 60/40 is the highest I will go with it if I want the coil to last more than a couple days. The vapor on the nautilus is a little underwhelming after vaping the others, but if the juice tastes good, it can make up for the lack of clouds.

The Nautilus Mini is what I use every day and I love it. Flavor is great, perfect airflow for me , and easy to maintain. The price is great, now if you want the same tank but better, you will have to spend more . I'm talking about the Kabuki tank, much better performance, but about 3 times the cost of a mini Nautilus. A friend of mine just bought one and I tried it, Fantastic, but for the cost I will stick with my 5 Nautilus Mini's.

I started vaping with the nautilus mini kit. Great at first, but as I keep vaping on it, I couldn't get the rush or the satisfaction, so after about 3 months on it, I went back to analogues.

After about 6 months of back to analogue, I decided to give vaping another try and bought a subtank mini. What everyone said was true in the sense that once you go sub-ohm its hard to go back. My very concern was the same as yours, that the juice in a subtank simply goes through way too fast (from 4-5 ml of juice on the nautilus to about 8-10 ml of juice on the subtank). Now the reason for the juice going through so much faster was also because I personally love to vape the subtank mini and practically never let it out of my hands. Second point is nautilus mini I was using 12 mg nicotine in comparison to the 6 mg nicotine im using now with my subtank. In terms of flavor wise, I would still stick with the subtank. The most important factor to me was the cost. Sure I vape almost twice as much juice on the subtank compared to the mini, but maintenance fees are so much cheaper. Subtank just buy cotton and wire, you're good for months. Nautilus mini's bvc coils have a lot of problems with it. If you burn it, it'll stay burnt forever, if you flood it, you'll be spitting out juices from the air holes. Some coils also last longer, whereas some just burn in a day, which is not economical at all. Juices wise you'll be stuck with using 60-40 juices at most. I still use my nautilus mini once in a while, however, everytime I use it, I just regret buying it at all in the first place.
