Hey, Just reposting from my Halifax and region vapers thread.

I just chatted with Brandon, the manager, at Curly Portables... He's vaguely aware of what E-Cigg's are and is totally cool with us using Curly's for a get-together.

I've also sent a few emails (a few more to send yet) to the different Vendors specifically within Canada, to see if they'd be willing to sponsor our get together with door/draw prizes.

I'm looking at booking it for the evening of Thursday 24th of March ( just a little over 2 weeks away) so that any vendor who wishes to provide us with apparel, juice or devices for door prizes can do so.

**EDIT - apparently i'm the only person who doesn't think about St Paddy's day... so it will be the week after St paddys day, the 24th of March **

up front, i am looking for someone who lives in Halifax (peninsula) who'd be willing to give my daughter and I a ride out to the event, as i have successfully avoided driving for 31 years... LOL

Sounds interesting. For future meets I suggest moving closer to town though, especially on a week night. When I get a moment I need to approach Big Leagues in Dartmouth. I have a feeling we would be welcome. To busy right now with production but if I do get a chance I'll check 'em out.

Hey Jay, sounds great....I'm not familiar with Curly Portables -- is it a restaurant/bar type place? If so, my only concern is that March 17th is St. Paddy's Day and that would make it a much busier night than normal.

@Switched - Big Leagues would be awesome as it's only a stone's throw from my place! Seeing as they did have a smoking room at one time, I could see them being receptive to the idea!

well... St patties day wasn't on my radar... lets put it a week later then?? Curly Portables is a bar/restaurant with sweet massive burgers!!!

Switched... it was first suggested by one of the other users... I'm thinking we can move it around each month... one week at Curly's, over at BigLeagues in Dartmouth, at Michaels in Halifax, at Boston Pizza in Sackville... etc... Frankly, any location we choose is going to be further than walking distance for me, so it doesn't make a difference, so long as i have someone willing to pick me up.

I've just heard back from two of the vendors i've written (still a few to write to...) and they've agreed to provide 'something'... once i have things nailed down as to what is coming in, I will let you know what and who is providing it (cause i strongly believe in promoting Canadian Vendors)

If you're a canadian Vendor, and are willing to provide a door/draw prize(and even if you cannot) please contact me and let me know... I also plan to have as much retailer info on the table as i can, so if you have business cards send them to me and i'll add them to the table. got another email last night, 3 vendors are onboard for providing 'something'...

again, once i have specifics and firm commitments, i'll post the names and prizes being offered.

i'm getting more and more excited about this....

and for those vendors reading this wondering why i haven't contacted you, I still have a few emails to send out, but if you want to get in on the action, or at least ensure that your business cards are present on the table, please feel free to contact me. although i specifically have stated Canadian vendors, if you're from the US or abroad and wish to be represented at the table, feel free to contact me.

As much as this is an opportunity for vapers in our area to get together, I also want this to be an opportunity for vendors to reach out to the community and have their name and product be recognized...

I'd really like to know how many people are going to come and if Curly's is the preference... I'd hate to have it there and have it flop because noone wanted to go there and/or i can't make it out with the prizes...

I will be coming one way or the other.I think since most of us are in HRM it should be closer to the majority.In the Hfx Dart area.Also agree with Switched should be on the weekend.For me Friday nights would be the best since I have my live show on Saturday night on Elixer.

ok... i think i've emailed all the Canadian Vendors that i'm aware of... if you are a Canadian/US Vendor and want to be included in this event (again, i don't care if you don't have anything to give me but your business cards) please contact me...

Can i safely say that the majority preference is in town? If so, i'll book it in Halifax (simply because the place i have in mind is within walking distance for me) and let everyone know where and when... I also happen to know the owner and will try to get us a discount on food/drink.

LOL... its not the first time i've thrown together a meet & Greet or run an event for that matter.

I do work for another organization where i'm the Deputy Event Coordinator for our annual fundraising event.

I also used to run an international social group that, when i stepped down, had over 200 members in 7 provinces, 30 states and 15 countries...

a simple get together is a walk in the park...

Ok,

Just to let you all know... i'm waiting on confirmation of the location. Once I have that I'll do up the formal write-up, post it here and the vendors will email their atlantic canada customers to let them know about the event.

Last night i got final confirmation from 3 of the 4 vendors about what they're giving... all i have left is one to confirm their participation, although a tentative agreement seems to have been reached. I expect to hear from them late tomorrow and i expect to start recieving the prizes early next week.

I'm excited about this... I hope you all are as well.

P.S there are some PV's, some juices and some T-shirts... and there will likely be a game with prizes.
