Ahhh so basically I measured the resistance wire to get the required ohms I wanted, so when I wrap it just go another wrap on each end so the twisted joins of wire are wrapped around the drill bit as well? I'll give that a try and then figure out how to run the wires to make the correct connections

Exactly. This guarantees that all R wire will be on the wick.

I found the first Grail for the v1 had a different vape profile compared to the v1 Diver. But the Grail for the v2 Diver is almost exactly the same vape as the v2 Diver itself.

I am getting a diver V2 in a few days and I need to order supplies. I don’t want to deal with the No res wire soldering bit, so I want to get premade wires and I see they have some on Aivdvaper already wrapped around silica.

I am going to use the diver on my Provari Mini and was wondering what kind of resistance where Provari users prefer for a longer battery life???

And also Avid vaper has 1 x 2.5mm Wicks and 2 x 1.5mm wicks. What would work better in a Diver V2???

First of all pls note that we suggest use 2mm (double in the res).
For the options you wrote we prefer 2 x 1.5mm

I personally prefer 1.2ohm premade wires but I've seen a lot of people who prefer 1.8ohm.

Finally got my diver V2 performin' as I initially had hoped. Took some surgery on the ceramic cups, basically opened the slots up to 2mm and extended them 1.5mm towards the base. Using 1.8 ohm ready-wires and hemp, no dry hits and as far no leaks

Good to hear! Enlarging the slots on the cups means you aren't choking the wick. Another way to do this is to build the coil above the cup, so the wick doesn't have to pass through the slots. Either method should work equally well.

Howdy, recently picked up a BB pkg deal which came a Diver V2, whoo hoo. I have a V1 and use it with an SnP tank. V1 was always an on off in terms of vape for me. Always made sure I primer puffed or I got the dreaded dry hit. Now the V2 is much better but I do get the occasional dry hit.

So my coil is 1.8 ready wire wrapped around folded over 1mm silica yarn from Intaste. Btw I love this media in my KF, better flavor than my other silica. Anywho after priming I screw down the tube and cut excess. I've rebuilt twice so far, first was with maybe 5-6 folds of the silica and when cut it filled the juice feed holes. Second build is 3 maybe 4 folds and cut more off so that it was filling half of the opening of juice feed. Still getting dry hits, not always but if I chain vape I def need to primer puff. I imagine its a wicking issue. Once primed and juicy it's a better vape than my KF. That was the case even with my V1. So I read thru a bunch of pages. I am going to work on flattening the wick out then laying in down towards the juice feed holes. Any other suggestions, great thread btw.

Flattening the wick is key, especially with silica, which is denser than Ekowool or cotton. If the silica is stacked one strand on top of the other, it will get compressed when the tube is screwed onto the base, and not wick properly. Make sure the strands are side-by-side by twisting them before closing up the Diver. When you screw on the tube, there should be no resistance, it should screw on with zero force needed.

I find that not all 2mm silica is created equal. The silica sold by Atmistique is a bit narrower than 2mm silica from other vendors. Therefore, I would also try building the coil above the cup instead of inside the cup. The silica strands will then hang over the side of the cup instead of being wedged into the cup slots. I do this with cotton. When I did some silica tests for another ECF member, the strands would need force to be inserted into the cup slots, which meant they were choked off and compressed, which would have meant poor wicking.

My Grail 306 works like hell with these 306's I have. Right now I cannot tolerate using it. It's like sucking a golfball through a garden hose! It just sits in my box of vape stuff.

Can you recommend a brand of 306's to use that work well, please?

I usually vape with cisco and empire 306 without a problem.
What kind of 306 you use now?
