b0redagain your wire is too big for the Diver pls check it with 32AWG
eratikmind u use the 3mm wick with the same ceramic?

Divers without flange: we will have them in a few hours, pls forgive the delay of last days

Scuba tank: tomorrow will start the production

Grail: we finish it. Make it smaller the 306 version and it can hold about 18 drops (with bridgless 306). The Diver dripping version can holds about 24 drops. U can take a look at the prototypes:

I use a 50/50 juice. I was out in the 102℉ heat today and the Diver held its own. Perhaps, the 50/50 played a part in that.

It has been 8 hours and some 6-8 ml of juice since I installed the new single strand 3mm silica coil assembly. It has been behaving quite well.

With the Diver fully assembled, have you taken a close inside the tube? As I am sure that you are aware of this, note the position of the silica in relationship to the juice feed hole. Perpendicular is the ideal position. Just throwing ideas out there.

Yeah, I received an e-mail that the Fluid Flask are available. I trust you enjoy them.

The wicks are perfectly perpendicular to the feed hole on both units, and the wicks are cut just above the threads. If I keep the mod on it's side it isn't as much of a problem, but based on the performance you guys are reporting here, mine definitely aren't acting the way they were designed.

I know it's an over wicking issue, and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the wick and coils being fit too far down in the cup. it seems that as the wick becomes saturated at the coil, the liquid on the bottom if the coil is close enough to the bottom of the cup to make contact. That liquid then drops into the cup, and the process continues until the available liquid just outside the cup is depleted.

I should have some 2mm wick to pick up today, so the plan is to make sure the coil is flush with the top of the cup, or possibly even poking out a bit.

50/50 mix here as well, but planning to try out all VG as I think I may be developing a reaction to PG.

Konstantinos,

Yes, I used 1 single strand of a 3mm silica, which I had purchased on ebay from Vaperbase. It is a loosely woven german silica.

Yes, I installed it in the same Diver ceramic cups, which I had purchased from Atmistique. My initial report on the resistance of this particular coil assembly was in error. The coil's resistance is 1.4Ω and not the 1.7Ω, which I had noted, yesterday.

Initially, I felt such a coil would create flooding. However, that has not been the case.

For my next coil, I plan to use a double strand of 3mm silica. However, I will cut the upper piece of silica to fit inside of the ceramic cup's inside dimensions, while the lower strand exits the cup.

First rebuild on the Diver...what a pain. I think the 30 gauge wire I'm using is too big to really get a good square knot. I'll try 32 gauge next time. What gauge are you using, eratikmind?

b0redagain,

My Diver coils are made with 32g Kanthal A-1 (R wire) and 32g Nickel (NR wire).

narcolepticltd,

What gage wire are you using?

Are you using wire, which is thinner than 32g?

- Andy

stock wick and coil that came with the divers. My 2mm wick is finally here though, so hopefully I'll be building new this evening. I'll be using the wick above, doubled, with 32 gauge nickle nr, 34 gauge kanthal. I'd like to shoot for a similar resistance like yours, 1.5ish, but may need ti pick up some 32 gauge kanthal ti make that happen. How many wraps did you end up with on the 32g kanthal?

You should be good to go with the 32g Nickel NR wire. I was thinking that perhaps, if the NR legs are too thin, that the base/brass pin/ceramic cup assembly components might compress too closely together. Thus, potentially creating issues.

I use 4 complete wraps, as viewed from the top of the coil. The R wire is in full contact with the silica wick, as it transitions to the NR wire legs.

Be mindful when building the NR-R-NR wire assembly. It took me a couple of tries to figure it out. Any extra R wire, which extends beyond touching the wick, will extend the R/NR marriage further down into the ceramic cup. Thus, there is a potential for the R/NR marriage to bottom out at the 2 small holes in the ceramic cup. This may cause the 2 outside coils to lose contact with the silica wick, as it is seated down into the ceramic cup.

I trust that makes sense for anyone trying to understand that.
