Dude, don't give up on the Diver just yet. I am a complete noob and i have got it working (my kayfun is redundent now!). You need to apply a lot of pressure when seating the ceramic cup in the base, you should feel it slide in by about 1-2mm. I was also afraid i was going to break the ceramic! Once the ceramic is seated invert it put in the brass pin turn back over so that the pin is facing down and then press it against a hard surface. Hope it works out for ya![]()
Woke up this morning to a leaking diver. Man, this thing is just not meant to be for me. I have done all the recommendations. When I watch all these videos, I don't see anyone applying that much force. Im going to give another go, and either seat the cup or break it.
Edit: after inspecting the parts, my ceramic has been touching the plastic piece in the diver base. You can see where the two have been making contact. I then stuck the pin back into the cup, and it is bottoming out at the step where it is supposed to. There is no where else for the pin to go, so it doesn't matter how hard I push at this point. The only way this pin is going to seat, is to sand down the ledge on the pin so it can go further into the cup so that it can reach the plastic on the 510 side at the bottom.
