Big shout out, sir. I've been thinking of similar solutions for the same problem, but your post inspired me to hunker down and try this.

It is Konstantinos fault.
He flat out refused me an XL tube so i had to come up with something in order to be able to use a Diver in an XL tank.
Although i don't really think the difference in size between regular and Xl would've made any difference in the leaking over extended periods of non use, i thought about a way to prevent it from happening over and over again.
First i tried to spread the wick hollow center by compressing it and push it down vertically to coat the inside of the tube with a layer of wick all the way down past the ceramic cup's lip and squeeze it between the tube and the cup together with the coil wick, but that proved too much of a headache as its end frays and it's next to impossible to sit it nice and tidy around the cup.
Than the idea of coiling it came and that was easy.
The need teaches us to come up with solutions.
Not to mention that i am of greek descent (paternal grand father) and we all know greeks are smart people.
Everything comes from Greece as the father of the bride in "My Big Fat Greek wedding" used to say.

Greeks. They keep trying to get rid of us, but we'll be here after Armageddon, scrubbing everything down with Windex.

@andrebandre we test the Divers base in 45mm and after some hours it gives leakage to some of our tests thats why we didnt want to take the risk of giving something which...may works.
After that we give all our attention to Grails. Now we finish them we will try again with different diameter holes.

I am anxious to test your clever idea today.

Hey guys,

I have just finished all my pre-made coils and have tried to build my own. I am using the NR-R-NR config and the wires that Konstantinos recommended to use. However, i am at my wits end here :( I have gone through a meter of both NR wire and R wire!!! I manage to tie the knots but they are always too big to go through the holes in the ceramic cup. When i try to tighten the knots more the wires snap uggrhhh!!!!!! I just don't know what to do........... I have tied the knots exactly like shown in the youtube video but alas i always fail.

The knots should be above the holes of the cup.
There is no way the camel will pass through the eye of the needle.

Just a short follow-up: I left the tank about 3/4 full last night. This morning, there was a tiny bit of condensation on the Diver's pole, maybe about 1/4 of a drop of e-liquid. This is about an 80% reduction in overnight leaking, in addition to the 100% elimination of intra-day leaking. I'd call this a great success so far, but I do want to go through a few days of refilling and swapping out Divers.

Also, between the Diver and Ithaka rebuilds, I have come to truly loathe the 1.5mm solid Ekowool. I will be sticking to the hollow stuff, as it seems to wick my thick VG juices much more efficiently.

I built a beautiful 1.5ohm coil of Kanthal ribbon around two pieces of 2mm Ekowool stuffed in a ceramic. Unfortunately, when I went to put it in my Diver it was too loose - it wouldn't sit firmly on the center pin. I tried some extra center pins but the results were the same. Bummer. I've set this ceramic aside and I don't believe that it came from Atmistique.

Is it just me or everyone's Diver leaks infrequently from it's 510 pin?

While filling (the tank) it definitely must leak (whatever I do), but it also does over the day... I find a pool on the mod's 510 head everytime. And overnight :( again, it definitely must leak.

What am I doing wrong?

Take a look to be sure that the coil/wick assembly isn't pushed down too far into the ceramic cup.

- Andy

I kept it right on the ceramic's slots, few times tad higher and/or at the lowest possible.... yet no joy!

Today, made that spiral topper wick system... uh, it still leaks... a tissue is now always at hand... for both tasks - (a)to clean up the frequent mess, as well (b)to wipe my tears!

Okay . . . Hmmm . . . What size NR wire are you using. Perhaps, it's leaking between the ceramic cup and base unit?

Is the ceramic cup pressed all the way down into the base unit?

Short of that, you may be experiencing an over wicking issue. What size wick are you using?

-Ceramic cup seems to be well pressed,
-NR wire, size I wouldn't know (no marking), but thickness is same as a 32-34g Kanthal,
-Wick is 1.5mm Silica x 2 strands.

Check and or replace the inner o-rings for your tank. There may be a pressure issue. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
