hi, in my short experience ( 15 days vaping) already blew away two atomizers, I clean it twice with alcohol but was not enough, I'd like to know what are the main reasons why an atomiser stops working, the last one did not crash completely but began to reach temperatures very high and no longer do the job , maybe it´s something I do wrong ? thank you

What ecig are you using and what kind of atomizers?

I think LR (low resistance) atomizers may be more prone to dying - they run at higher temps. Crappy clone attys may be more prone to blowing. Allowing the atty to reach high temps when dry could kill them. Overdriving them because they are dirty and you are trying to get a good hit could kill them.

I pay attention to the heat of my attys. If they are getting abnormally hot then something is wrong. Either the cart stuffing needs topping off with juice, or the stuffing is not contacting the atty well, or the stuffing is old and not wicking well (in which case I replace it with blue foam stuffing). If you are using prefilled carts any of those might also be true.

If the cart is perfect and the atty is not working well then it's probably time to clean it.

It sounds like you are not getting enough e-liquid into the wick of the atomizer. Tell me, when you put on the cart do you drip 2-3 drops of liquid into the atomizer first? That will help the e-liquid wick up into the atomizer.

Plus, I agree with mwa102464, carts suck. FWIW: even with a cart, my experience was that you can only vape it for about 5 minutes before needing to top off the cart again... so how often do you top off the cart?

Try dripping instead:
• take one cart and empty the filler out of it
• put 2-3 drops of e-liquid directly on the bridge of the atomizer (the mesh hump that sticks up in the middle)
• put the empty cart back on and vape
• you should be able to get about 10 drags before you need to put 2-3 more drops in again.

Good luck! :)

ps, I never clean my atty's, I just blow them out once in a while.

thank you , I have this 3 kits I use , the 510 with 280mah batteries , the joy ego with xl atomizers or regular atomizers and a tornado tank ( everything JOYE original parts ), only have problems with the ego regular and xl atomizer , sometimes I use the 650mah batteries and sometimes the 1000mah ego battery ... and yet what bothers me most is that the cig that more use is the tank tornado , he drinks to much :) but still alive

EDIT : I drip 3 drops , always and use drip tips

Maybe I don´t drip often as I should ?? I always wait for some burn flavour to drip more , this is my mistake?

Another question ? do you keep vaping when the atomizer is hot ? or let it cool down and them vape ?? thank you

The e-liquid keeps your atomizer cooler: a dry atomizer burns a lot hotter than a wet one (I think it's twice as hot, but can't remember exactly) and a hot atomizer will die quickly. It's bad to vape on a hot atomizer -- I will use it up to the point where it's very, very warm. But when the heat becomes almost uncomfortable to the touch, that's too hot. The best way to do it (what I do:) ) is have two e-cigs going at the same time and alternate -- especially if you are a heavy vaper (or heavy smoker). That way neither one has a chance to get too hot.

Also, a hot atomizer doesn't make the e-liquid taste very good either.

also: right before the burn flavor you should notice an increased production of vapor, even if you are using 100% PG e-liquid and the flavor drops off just a little bit. It seems too good to be true... and then the burn. When you get the huge plumes of vapor and also a drop in flavor that's when to add more e-liquid.

how long of hits do you take? If you heat the coil too long, it can pop, done it many times. I have also had problems with flooding the atty, and not getting good results, when dripping. Have you tried blowing out your atomizer into a napkin then put 2 drops on the coil and try again? It's difficult to trouble shoot when you can not observe the habits of the person. It could also be your juice, if it is thick, or heavy with color, it can leave a lot of gunk on your coil, "suffocating" it, making it work harder to perform and this can kill it too. Just my experiences...I hope some of this helps.

Rui,

If you are such a heavy vaporer that you make your attys that hot, maybe think about going to a higher volt Ecig to try. It produces more vapor with less inhaling time. There's tons of mods available but the cheapest I have found is on MadVapes site. They have a 5 volt box mod and tube style mod for under $50 I think.

I bought a MadVapes 5volt passthrough that I plug into a wall adapter and plug it into an electrical outlet. It's VERY potent and I don't have to inhale long using that.

Going to a higher volt mod would work for you. I'm a heavy vaper too, that's why I have a couple (or three) going at the same time. PLUS I can load each one with a different flavor too so it gives me some variety.
