Been trying all sorts of different ideas to extend the life of my atomizers and believe i have got it sorted for now :thumb:

After 3 days of refilling my penstyle cart i notice that the liquid from the atomizer starts to discolour the filler a dark brown colour and you can hear the liquid inside start to glug as it gets thicker!

This is time to half fill the atomizer with water 4 to 5 times in a row shake vigorously and empty contents.

then you flick the atomizer untill all water is gone(like hitting a drum), you will be suprised how much water she holds!

3 drops, new cart, 10 puffs and hey presto shes like new

Its been working for me so far and would like anyone to try it and give feed back :D

ted you should paste this in to the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/1100-how-clean-atomizer.html thread so we can keep it on record and it isnt lost.

I do the same... only I've been using pure grain alcohol (190) proof. I put about 2-3 ml in atty, shake, drain and repeat again... then blow out and let dry.
Been working pretty good, along with keeping proper wick/coil saturation.
My atty is going on 19 days. pretty good for a 5 volt modded e cig.

I do something similar, instead of using water I use alcohol. I've strayed completely away from water on atty's. I plug up the battery side of the atty with my index finger, fill the penstyle atty about 2/3 full of alcohol, then cover the top part of the atty with my thumb and shake it.

Once I do that I will soak the atty in alcohol for a couple of hours, then take it out, blow out any excess alcohol, reprime with VG and put it in a ziplock bag until I'm ready to use it.

I mostly do this to remove strong flavors from my atty's, like cinnamon and mint. It doesn't get all of the flavor out, but enough that my new flavors can influence the flavor of the atty fairly quickly.

Seems to work well so far, haven't lost an atty in months.

I'll have to try that. My 901 is getting harder to draw. I almost wonder if the air hole is getting gunked up. I gently stuck a pin in there to clean it out but it didn't seem to make a difference in the draw.

Thanks, Paula

Exposed bridge atty's (i.e. joye 306) will need to be soaked, but atty's like DSE-801's can be filled with alcohol, capped on both ends (with fingers) and shaken to clean out the internal parts.

Some say that water is not good for atty's. I don't personally use water myself, I prefer alcohol, it evaporates much quicker, and is a better solvent for e-liquid. It will thin it out and clean out a flavor better than water will.

abombaci - you will likely get a better response in a different thread, but you can refill carts, you may get a lingering taste from the previous liquid, but they can be refilled multiple times, cleaned with hot-water, dried out, then refilled again.
