i find it funny that rip trippers thinks an extra click to wake up the cana mod is worth an extra $180 for the authentic, how lazy or impatient are you? someone needs to get their priorities straight. im calling it right now, if the low blow to illvapes didn't shut down hana modz, these new clones who perform exactly the same and are 1/3 the price are gonna shut them down. an idiot would buy an authentic hana modz at this point... your basically paying an extra 180 for a logo.

even though they say there is no room for sympathy in business and although ive personally been negatively affected by illvapes, i cant help but feel bad for them after that email. "just because you can do something doesn't mean you should", words ive lived by my entire life and has made me a slightly less obnoxious person because of it, hana modz should have embraced this saying, instead they have successfully succeeded in destroying a small vape shop and online vendor. sueing them and doing it so publicly was a double edge sword that hana modz may have not realized and may sill not have, the vape community is huge but a tightly woven one... what sets us apart from other vice industries is that we help one another grow and learn for the better of the vape scene, we dont sue each other and destroy small businesses without first considering the alternatives, because lets be honest.. there were A LOT of alternatives. what hana modz did was emotional and was wrong... everyone see's this. a company like hana modz can come and go and no one will miss it, but its when you start shutting down the vendors and B&M's is when your truly affecting the scene.

I disagree that what Hana did was bad. They did not result to pissing and moaning on their FB page like some other vendors. They went after someone selling an illegal product. Frankly I am happy they did and I hope more OEM's do the same. I am not against clones and own many myself. However I am against counterfeit products (clones that include all of the logo's and artwork).

Also most of use who buy OEM products this would not affect use buying another product from them.

And people like you wonder why OEM buyers put you down. If it wasn't for Hana you wouldn't have a Hana clone in the first place. Illvapes brought this on themselves by selling a product with a registered trade mark.

I work for nether. But I understand what it is like to be a small business owner. Yes I have posted RT's video links on here because he is one of 20 or so reviews I track on YouTube and it was relevant to the discussion. I don't know RT or anyone from Hana.

Wasn't there just a big "discussion" on battery safety? Yeah, we don't need to be safe with batteries at all... <-that was sarcasm....

Hook, Line and sinker #2 - And oh, by the way, No One ever said anything about we don't need to be safe.

OEM buyers dont put me down, in fact most people agree with my point of view. because your average vaper doesn't have $250 to throw away on a 30 watt device, much less one with a crooked 510 and a 2 month wait period attached to horrible customer service. true, we thank hana modz for coming up with the box design, but the hero is evolv and cloupor for redesigning the DNA 30 chip. if you have money to waste on $200+ authentic products then by all means go ahead, but i for one quit cigarettes with not only the goal to live a healthier life but to also save my money, which is why i DIY and do cotton builds.

ps. no doubt illvapes was in the wrong for putting out a clone with a registered trademark, but did they deserve to be ultimately bankrupt? no, less you forget there running a business to.. and not out of the back of their van kind of business. a legit one with employees and taxes, a phone call or email would have been just as effective, but they chose to bury a small business which is something i cant get behind. its like if a kid on the playground called your mom fat, would you hit him in the face for it or take the higher road.... hana modz didnt take that higher road.

Hanna Modz does not have a registered trademark!!!! They have applied for one which really limits what could happen in federal court.

Illvapes was just one of more than dozen companies advertising the logo'd devices - and despite the lawsuit several companies are still selling them - Hanna Modz does not appear to be protecting their submitted trademark.

Simply poor business and marketing practices on both sides of the coin. It is a shame Hanna Modz could not capitalize on their idea and product - now it becomes exceedingly harder for them.

So my clone hasn't been switching from red to green when the battery is fully charged. Charged the VTC5 all the way on a nitecore, then threw it in the cana and plugging it in via USB. An hour later still no green light...and thats with a FULL CHARGE! Anyone else having this issue?
The green light can be very hard to see. I can barley see a green glow next to the lower left corner of the USB port if there are no lights in the room; or if take steep angle view of the LCD screen looking downward on the device, I can see green showing through the edge or at the edge of the LCD screen. At least on the Clouper mods.

I actually agree with you but everyone keeps saying a phone call and or email would have done.... Does anyone know this for a fact? How do we know the guys over at illvapes had'nt been warned via email and or phone and thought it was a bluff. Those guys don't deserve it but they don't look like the brightest tools in the shed. For all we know hana did tell them to stop selling it but they may of thought they were bluffing or something. I am just speculating and the above is just hypothetical but maybe they did warn them, maybe not. I haven't seen proof either way about it.
