The grey one was out of stock after I made the order. So went ahead with red. Loving it so far!

I was surprised to see the LCD logo stating 'Evolv dna' though when I press the vape button.

That's fairly uncommon. I have the same red/ logo'd version and get the "Hana Modz" message on startup and out of sleep mode. Any others have the "Evolve" message on startup/ wakeup?

Morning coffee and a :vapor::vapor:..... quiet night around these parts...

Old post of 6/11/2014

I noticed two things about the 510 connector when looking/testing... the width of the center pin and I could just barely see the black silicone spacer under the top of the pin....normal 510's have the silicone spacer easily seen and protrudes noticibly around the pin....so tightening the topper down may allow the outer edge of the pin to short to the connector metal housing(threaded part at the base).

Post 6/16/2014

Warning to all. I've figured out, in part, what has happened with my dead silver cana from WV. So I dug out a boat load of hot glue from around the 510. I used my multi meter a few days ago and determined the center pin of the 510 connector was shorting to the 510 giving my a closed circuit, causing the check atomizer reading. Anyway got the glue out and found that the center pin is mobile and quite easily pushed down to far grounding to the 510. The center pin isn't tight at all and the only thing really holding it was a dab of hot glue. I pushed the center pin back up and reconnected the ground, which was in the way, and voila. My mod was working again. Now I have another glitch. Once everything is put together, it fires continuously. I figure there's a short somewhere at the fire button. I guess I'll dig into the firing buttons tomorrow. I'm hoping its some sort of short in the soldering on the fire button. Everything else works normally. I have 3 new 510 connectors on the way, I may need to get some replacement buttons coming, I'll decide that after I get all that hot glue dug out from around the firing button. Anyway guys please be careful about tightening your attys. I'm easy on my stuff, so these 510s are really weak. I did loan this mod to my buddy same day it died. He could have possibly been the culprit. I've seen lot of peeps really tighten their attys.

Have a great day all....:)

Morning... coffee and a vape. Or for me... coffee, vape, and pass out after a 16hr shift at the hospital. Lots of new news overnight. Check out the newest elev8 update:

http://www.elev8vape.com/blog/updates-for-the-cana-mod-dna-30-clone/

Also, one of my orders (2545) black/green just shipped from them. Im not sure if just the black shipped, or both. Either way, hopefully I get one of the updated units so I can compare for you.

With that said... good night all!

retird, based on the picture I saw on elev8vapes site. the new 510 connector looks like there is twice the space between the pin and the threads :) job done!

Yep... looks like they fixed it.... and you see that the insulator is protruding out past the center pin....should have been that way from the start... maybe all the vendors need to tell Cloupor and the other manufacturers to "recall" all the defective units for replacement...recalls happend all the time in the USA for safety reasons...1000's of these in the wild....

Just s bit of history....

China has manufactured a 510 connector for years. Hundred's-of- thousands of mods use them. The 510 connector in the clone deviated from the "standard China 510 connector". The term "early adopter" to me assumes new technology. This is not new technology but just a poorly manufactured 510 connector.

I just emailed Cloupor and asked if they were going to recall or replace the clones with the defective connector. I probably won't receive an answer until tonight but I will post their response when I receive it.

You know, for all of the ranting and raving and waiting and canceling and reordering in this thread, I found it surprisingly easy to simply buy one when I finally wanted it. Blue one ordered last night, shipped this morning. Paid the extra $5 for 2 days shipping so I should have it by Thursday.

Now comes the big question..... Since the shop just got the shipment in does it have the updated 510 connector? Will find out in a couple of days I guess.

According to the cloupor FB page, any orders that shipped after June 6 from them should have the updated fixes included.

I'm a bit out of the loop on the 510 connection issue. Am I right in saying if your tank/rda/rba doesn't have an adjustable center pin that sticks out a little you could run into problems with the original 510's?

I have an original and it would say check atomizer if my center pins didn't stick out a little. So just adjusted them a tad and haven't seen that display since.

I was under the impression that elev8 was the only one testing/replacing screws/ communicating with the suppliers on issues. I may be mistaken. it seems like elev8 has also placed the largest orders....

It doesn't matter who was doing the testing and communicating, these things roll off a production line so any changes or updates would be applied to ALL of them, not just ones going to one store. The only question is when were the updates put into production and started shipping?

Cloupor claims that they have been making changes due to vendor feedback. now is that true? who knows, it is cloupor after all

I'm quite sure they are responding to vendor feedback. Keep in mind that these aren't limited to the US, they are shipping world-wide, and if vendors worldwide know there is a problem and it's not being fixed then they're going to stop placing orders. Vendors don't want the hassle or expense of dealing with thousands of returns, so they will simply order something else if the problems aren't fixed.
