the 510 might have shorted thats what happened to mine and i had to send it back for a new one

i keep getting the "check atomizer" message even though all my atties work fine on other mods. anyone else experiencing this problem? i already tried pulling the pin upwards to no avail

Are there differences between the clones? All of them are using the same chip correct? I thought about ordering the orbit30 from gotvapes but it's 50 bucks more than cana modz from wetvapes. I could save the other 100 and order an authentic hana. It seems like it's hit or miss if you receive a good clone I'm kinda wondering if I should even bother buying one now.

Gotvapes just put names on most of their stuff. They have the Cloupor that others have. 101vape.com has them for $69.99.

Just make sure the center pin of your atty sticks out a little past the threads. If it does not protrude the wide pin on the mod has a tendency to short as the the threaded portion and the center pin both touch causing a short.

That and don't over tighten

For those who don't like the technical nitpicking I commend you. For those that like to dig in and see some of the downfalls of these I commend you as well. I personally am on the nitpicky side of these or any mod for that matter. It is part of the hobby aspect of vaping.

When I bought my nexus 5 for example. The device is great right out of the box. But I still rooted it and fixed issues I didn't like. There will never be a product in the world that is 100 percent satisfactory. But this is why mods improve over time. By people voicing nuances and things they wish would be improved. It's not complaining.

Overall. I am satisfied with my mod. It has the quirks but generally works as it should. Would I be happier with more accuracy in these? Of course! For the money these are spectacular!

But do you need a dust cover for your nexus?
People are more inclined to post if a problems arise vs a well working unit.

Please forgive my OT intrusion on the discussions about these mods. I see this as a VERY busy and active thread, and so, I wanted to share some news with you.

FDA extending comment period on e-cigarette rules

By MICHAEL FELBERBAUM
AP Tobacco Writer

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- The public will have more time to weigh in on a federal proposal to regulate electronic cigarettes and other tobacco products.

The Food and Drug Administration said Friday that the public comment period slated to end July 9 is being extended an additional 30 days to Aug. 8 after getting lots of input on how to regulate e-cigarettes.

Had mine for 7 days and vape about 8 - 10mls a day ( I know - put it down! Lol. v low nic as I make my own juice! ) .
So far so good I have a diy genuine evolve dna 30 which is a bit bigger than the cana as I've two 18650's in it! and I can't notice much difference the ohms read the same on both devices most of the time sometimes .1 out but then so does my evic the cana fires on the first button press from standby - the screen doesn't flicker the evolve dna fades to standby whereas the cana just goes off - I have noticed that the voltage shown on screen is a little different with the same ohms but not that I've noticed the vape any different.
Yes there are some machine marks but not that you can 'feel them' more at the right angle can see them the worst one being in the drip well which you can't see when your tank is on anyway.
The on board charger stays red but dims when charged however ive only used it twice as I normally swap bats out and charge in a i4 (could the onboard charger be causing all the probs? Idk).
The buttons are nice and clicky and I haven't had any misfires.
The centre pin is a bit large but I use nautilus's drilled out 2mm and coiled and cotton wicked at about 1.4ohms and the nautilus has a spring loaded centre pin the kayfun and russian clones I use I had to wrap some ptfe tape around the centre pin and screw back in to get a bit more distance between it and outer ground and all work fine with no shorts.
Now I'm not saying it won't go kaboof but I hope it don't 'cause I'm kinda lovin' it.
It could just be a case of the 'Friday Ford' or the 'come on it's the weekend cana' that some unlucky buyers have got hold of after all they are assembled on an assembly line by a low paid work force.
Don't know what you guys state side are paying for the cana's but mine was £75 including a efest purple 20a 3100mah bat and was with me the next day .
The fast tech ones come out at around £34 and I really don't like that seam running right the way round and through the drip well. Having said that was tempted to pull the trigger on a green one from them but looking at how long it's taking for you guys state side to get em by the time it gets to blighty the interest on £34 would prob buy a genuine hana! .
Apologies for the long post, if you're still reading after 700 odd pages - like me you probably need help!.
And in my honest opinion - for the money take a punt it's a weeks worth of stinkies.

Now me I'd rather have a pint than a punt but here in the States the pints are smaller so we have to drink more.

So exact same product just cost more? I was hoping the difference in price meant better quality. I might order from 101 but my last experience with them was extremely slow shipping.

Err.....

4.2v X 4.2V / 0.6ohm = 29.4watts

That's what you're getting from a fresh battery in a mech mod with that build, so yeah, your cloupor clone would need to be set to close to 30watts to match the 29.4watts of your mech mod.

Errr... Really? Exactly the reason why I don't want to vape at 30w all the time, since it's regulated the battery won't last bugger all. With a mech there's a drop every hit so in theory it lasts longer.
That's why I asked what builds you guys are using.

Sorry but you got it backwards, the regulated mod will put out voltage between 3.8 - 4+ till the battery is ehausted down to approx. 3.2 volts where the mechanical with start fizzling out long before. I change mine out on a mechanical around 3.8 volts.
So in my use I have to swap batteries every couple of hours with a mechanical where as a regulated mod gets me all (work) day, I vape at 20 to 24 watts usually.

But you are certainly correct about 30 watts killing the batteries charge (on either type mod).

So I take your post as you are agreeing? Not understanding. Of course people are more inclined to post problems. This would be a really boring thread if everyone was happy happy!

It's the wicks!!! They are beautiful and perfectly trimmed to the point... Hahaha, just having fun :)

Really guys it's awesome how things have progressed, for an outstander like me that was into ecigs since 2010 more or less and living in a country not served by the majority of venders, it's really awesome how we have evolved.
I love this thread and am still learning from all of you, because of my far location I'm still happy with my DNA20 but I'm ready to pull the trigger on one of this beauties!!!
Ok... back to lurking and learning... :)
