Not everyone has the financial situation to do that.

Im not rich by any means but Ive found that thinking about how long something will last me and always buying quality when I can pays off in the long run.Its the recurring cost for things that can be avoided that kill you financially and sometimes literally.

Take something as simple as brakes for you car. I install mine myself because I refuse to pay a mechanic 40 bucks to do it. That allows me to buy the best brake pads I can and also provides peace of mind because I dont have to worry about them for a couple of years. Those platinum series brakes might be what saves my families life in an accident by stopping 5 feet quicker.

Same principle holds true IMO when it comes to vaping.I dont ever want to go back to smoking but Im not naive enough to think there arent situations where it would be easier to do so. Equipment failure is one of those......I NEED my nicotine and if my PV and its backups were to break down tonight Id probably be at the store buying analogs and hating myself for doing so.

Part of that would be because all that investment of time and energy, ordering juices and posting on these forums would be thrown out the window and Id (hopefully) be starting over again. That last time smoking cigarettes could be what kills me because worse case scenario I dont come back to vaping.

When you look at in that context maybe you can understand why I recommend a Provari.I dont want to trust the success or possible failure of the healthiest thing Ive ever done for myself to something that hasnt proven itself to be rock solid and dependable.I could care less about the price or the perceived elitism and to offer anything less to someone coming to the forums and sometimes begging for help seems kinda wrong to me.

Then I took it wrong and for that I'm sorry.

But to not give everyone all options for the thing they are looking for is foolish. The more educated you are the more educated of a purchase you make. Whether or not if it's in your budget. It's all your decision. If you want opinions let all of them come out. Not just ones in the price range. How many time have you bought something in a category of products you were looking at more expensive than the first product you looked it? Why? Because of more knowledge? Same thing goes here

If someone asks for all opinions give it. If they set a price range, a size range, length of use range; give them info for what they asked for.

I never buy something more expensive than a price range I've set, that's why I set a price range.

Lol. It's not the device it's how you use it. A provari will do you little good if you've got something craptastic screwed on it. With the advent of vv egos and the kick. I'd say you can find a pretty decent reliable vape at a low cost. It's like a guitar. You don't run out and buy the les Paul standard right when you first start learning to play.

Whamo, blamo, vamo :)

The original question had to do about only having $50 to spend to get started. Instead of pros and cons of this and that the solution would be simple. Why can't the person asking for help be advised to get something in their budget and at the same time you can mention once you find your juices you like and get comfortable with vaping maybe start saving for brand x. Now if someone says I have unlimited funds and what is the best money can buy then thats a whole other subject. I can say that since I started vaping I have spent more on juices than on equipment and my smokes were only $20 a carton when I quit 6 weeks ago.

Actually yes it is..... was looking at getting a mechanical mod at 3.7 volts. Something like a Protege or a Provape that has a good reliable proven track record for around 80 bucks even briefly looked at a Bolt but I caught a deal in the classified for a V2 Provari for 135 bucks and couldnt pass it up.

Money is tight with the holidays here and Im gonna have to make a sacrifice or two but IMO the extra 55 dollars is worth the added security.

Additional, my vaping habit has me with four devices at any one time and I rotate through 4 flavors continuously, therefore the Provari is impractical for this reason. Also, I appreciate the smaller size of my eGo 650's. Easy to have multiple eGo's in my pocket than multiple Provaris.

Soooo... the Provari is NOT necessary for many to have a satisfying vaping experience.

Different strokes for different folks. For myself, I prefer having the single Provari and carrying 3 - 4 2ml cartotanks each with their own flavor works best for me.

By the way, you must have HUGE pockets. :D

If I ever lost or misplaced my Provari, I would find it necessary to purchase another one as soon as possible, it has me that spoiled. People can say that it is just like any other battery holder that heats juice to make vapor, but that is simply not the case for me. I've not had any other APV that could provide the consistancy that my Provari has from the beginning of the battery charge to the end, and do it at precisely the set voltage that I set it for. I depend upon it to deliver, and it always has. To some vapors, these attributes may not be priorities like they are for me.

I've seen a lot of these threads pop up since I started vaping. It hasn't resolved anything yet. its a rant. its not going to reach everyone that rudely pushes provari's on individuals with lower budgets or individuals that just don't want a provari... because not all of those posters will even read through this thread. This is more of a shout out at the crowd thread.

what would you ultimately like to see OP? an end to provape pushed on people that aren't looking for a provari? an end to the rudeness that some members seem to exhibit when they become defensive (for good or no good reasons)? I mean, there will always be people tired of hearing the provari name simply because the provari name comes up a lot, simply because its a very well-liked and widely used device. there will always be people with the personality type and mindset type to recommend the provari to people that don't want a provari or can't afford one. we won't stop it. and it'll happen long after we leave this forum, or long after the provari's reign as king... The eVic3.0 or the MiD10-22 will take its place and our grandchildren will be arguing about it. human nature. if your against it, your job is to chime in when you've got the energy, to go against those rude individuals and give the member asking for help, a better list of options.

Honestly I just purchased a Provari Blem (which I couldn't find a scratch on) and I find myself going right back to my (less than half the price) DNA12 box mod. While the Provari is ALOT more durable and good looking I like the vape my box creates alot more for some reason. In terms of a backup though I feel safe knowing I have a battle tested device like the Provari in my arsenal plus I can put another flavor into the rotation too ;)

The Provari is a tube that holds the battery and has nothing to do with the vape. If I set my voltage at 3.7 volts, it is indistinguishible from a 650mA eGo.

I think the first question that needs to be asked is always how many cigarettes did you smoke per day?
There are a lot of important questions that can be asked, but this is the most important.
The answer to this question provides the starting point for any and all other questions that should follow.

Sadly, these are questions that are rarely asked.
In fact, they are almost never asked.

Off to find some stock in Provari.

Id buy in a heart beat. Was lucky enough to attend Vapercon in Richmond Va this year and if I had to place a guess Id say Provaris made up roughly a little more than half of the devices I saw in use there.

Attended a local vapemeet about a month later and out of 16 people 12 of them were using them. That alone should tell ya something.

I do agree with the OP about listening to people asking for advice and also asking the right questions to determine whats best for them.

Believe it or not, the Provari or anything that might be similar in power is not the right choice for everyone, even if they have money to burn. I was just speaking with a coworker today who tried one and didn't like it because it was too strong of a hit, even at the lowest setting.

Sounds like they were attempting to vape it like an analog. Is pretty common with people who try mine even after i stop them and explain that its different.
