Atty with very very High Resistance

Hello everyone, just bought a 016, one of the attys came dead, the store said they would send another one so cool.
I've put the dead atty in a multimeter and this is the result lol

the normal one reports 2.9, normal. This one reports 136 lol

Does anyone ever saw a resistance that high?
Any suggestion to solve it? maybe i could open it, it is dead already

Yes, my first two attys stopped working after 6 days due to high resistance.
I tried soaking and flushing with Isopropyl Alcohol 91 percent with no luck.
Its gone and its not coming back. I haven't heard of anyone bringing one back from this condition.
Some people make their own replacement atty coils by winding NICHROME wire on a needle and soldering it onto the leads, but thats way too much screwing around for me.

Nice meter, make sure before taking resistance readings:
1) Touch both leads together
2) If reading is not zero then you'll need to subtract this number from all your resistance measurements.

the atty is toast in short. yes a bad atty can have a very high resistance.

The other option would be to string ten or eleven 016 batteries together in series. You'll get about 10 watts out of that.

I tried to open it but it won't come off of the shell. Tried to heat it with a heat gun, tried wd40, nothing. If i could take it of i'm sure i'll be able to fix it replacing the coil or whatever. Hey tobarger, this was the cheapest one, like 3/4 € . I dind't touch the 2 leads to see the Resistance, thanks for the advice.
Strange thing, if i keep measuring it the resistance starts to lowing down until it reaches 80 +/-, that's weird...

Always let the display stabilize before reading.
The lead resistance is usually about .5 ohm, this won't make or break you when checking a bad atomizer. Your reading will either be way too high or way too low.
But when measuring good atomizers, that .5 ohm is much more meaningful.
