This is a record for me! 2 solid days of vaping a 357 without it tightening up, tasting like crap, flooding, spitting, or just plain quit working!

And no, this isnt really a good thing. This is the 5th HH357 Ive experimented with. Thats over $100 spent. Pretty sad considering Ive had better luck/performance with a $1 carto. Im doing nothing different this time around, still vaping and squonking the same as I did with the first 4 357s. It seems like I finally got one that actually performs like it was designed.

I really like how this V1 357 atty is performing right now, but I dont think I can justify buying 5 just to get one that actually works:(

hmm, still it might be that you do something different without noticing. i know i had the same thing, never figured out what i did differently, still the atty's lasted me longer and longer over time. i used the cheap chineese 510's so it was less costly for me. maybe you can send the other ones back in, read that cs is good on them, if the atty's are to blame they will prolly replace them for you.

Same senario that I had. Big no thanks from me. Not pouring good money after bad. I'm happy these days with the goldband Joye 510 SRs. Fool me once....

I sent mine back in when it died in a week...I was told they would rebuild it for $10 but I would have to pay for shipping- I declined. I'm still using the cheap ones (EM and Joytech on the VV)....

I opened a ticket on Monday but no reply yet. I think I see why you declined..25+13 and then pray it's OK! It's sinking in just how much these things could drain my wallet. On the bright side my long barrel is still kicking and for some reason, I don't have to feed (squonk) anymore, just feeds itself...weird. At least now I know what a 357 is cause I just had to know...ya know! Might be the only two I ever buy though cause money is tight and daughter needs stuff...lot's of stuff!

I drilled a couple holes today in two extremely stiff firefly atty's and it helped the airflow quite a bit, so I bought the 10 pack of 306's and will try this on them too. :)

So far I have yet to get anywhere near the longevity out of these as many of you. Im keeping my fingers crossed on this one..
.

I hope this one works out for you, too. I really do because I have a hard time imagining a better atty for either vapor production or flavor reproduction. I'm still on my first one - and it has consumed something over half a liter of juice without any problems. I hope this one does the same for you!

I agree they are the best at flavor and vapor production. I have my original 2 from back in January I think still going strong.
I don't use them full time anymore but I have one on my VV for the last few days. I sure they both have consumed well over 100ml and still work like brand new. The draw is a little light for me and it makes squonking them dicey sometimes.

Well, day 4 with v1 357. It started tasting funny so I gave her a soak in some PGA. After that I primed it with 4 drops and left it overnight.

Today I tried it out again, still tasted horrible. Its NOT a burnt taste, but an overall nasty taste.

I decided to perform a re-clean. This time, I took a sharp needle and chipped a bunch of carbon off the coil.

Now it tastes great, but vapor production is inconsistent. Ive had some spitting, and dry hot burnt hits. None of which occurred in the first 4 days. Its pretty much performing just as crappy as my first 4 HH357s.

I feel like giving up at this point. I really dont understand how some of you are getting weeks and even months of use..

I was told that it was the juice I was using- I had only used AVE Flue Cured on it too- not a sweet juice although it is 100% VG...
Oh, and this is the picture he sent me telling me it was my dark, thicker juice (I finally found it on my computer!!):

The hh.357 needs 10-12 drops to prime ready to vape. Drops is sort of a lousy measurement though... maybe your drops are 2-3 times bigger.

And 4 days - maybe between 15-25 ml of use shouldn't really be enough to leave much carbon.

That's a good juice. AVEs flue cured is one of my favorites. My hh.357 has only used AVE 555 which is also 100%VG and a really similar color to the flue cured.

I've been thinking about this. If you're getting a bunch of carbon build up in 4 days, you might be running it too dry. These things need to be wetter than any other atty I've used. You should be able to hear the juice - not quite a gurgle (if it gurgles, it's going to spit) - but definitely hear the juice when you take a drag.

Since we are revisiting attys on this thread, I thought I would give a situation and ask you atty vaping experts for your opinions.

Here's the deal- have always heard of scorching or burning an atty but in my 18 months of vaping, had never really experienced that. Apparently though, I've done just that with one of my attys. It vapes great but the flavor is awful. It tastes burnt. Now, I've dry burned attys before without this taste (not really recommended as they shorten your atty's life). So, with this awful tasting atty, I've boiled it, sat it in PGA and even Sonic cleaned it but seems to make no difference. I have not try dry burning it yet...

The question is, can the burnt taste be removed or is it a gonner? Btw, it's an EM 510 LR atty.

I've been boiling and dry burning different style attys for almost two years with exceptional result. Every once in a while one just won't release the burnt taste. I think it something "down there," inside, that is involved that causes the burnt to not go away. The worst offender was an IKV 801 Mini.

I haven't dewicked many as they haven't needed it due to my cleaning method, I assume. Nothing helped one particular IKV 801 Mini including debridging and dewicking. I eventually took the tube off and junked the rest of the atty. Not a common occurrence for me.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

BTW... I strongly disagree that dry burning, the right way, shortens the life of attys. For two years now, regular boiling and dryburning, I have attys just get worn out rather than die. We lose virtually no attys to use or cleaning and dryburning.

Sounds like your wick is burnt to a crisp. I have not had good luck removing the wick on a EM LR 510. So I just tossed mine.
You could give it a try though.

I've never had a wick "brunt to a crisp." My understanding is that the materials, for most atty wicks, cannot be "burnt to a crisp" at the temps we reach when vaping. Heck, I've cleaned wicks using a torch. The materials do weaken and become brittle but what is the deal about "burnt to a crisps?" Does that really happen? I would like proof.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

Just finding this thread and wondering if any of you Reo nuts have found that the Hybrid atomizers from Avid (Aero) and Vapage (New Spec AMG Hybrid B/F) are HH357 look-likes, and imo are very user-friendly... like easy... and best vape I've found all year...

I cheated my AMG's over from the XL Vmod, which has a collar/cone that actually can make the draw a bit tight... not intended (the collar is supposed to create leak free situation i think), over to my Reo Grands, and they are the only atomizers I use now.

I swear by 'em... put a 1.5 Ohm AMG B/F on any non VV Reo ( i think there are 2.0 and the 2.5 may not be "new spec - slant coil" yet but that's the one you want (slant coil -its better). For the price its the closest thing to HH357 and more easy! more cheap $ too!

Disclaimer; I kill all attys and any other disposable within 2 weeks tops. So I bought a slew of these when they had a 50% off discount.

Hi. Newbie to the Forum but long-time stalker and a year of hard vaping. I just wanted to chime in on 357's. Seems so many people report having troubles and I seem to be very lucky getting at least a month or more often 2 or 3 out of each. Like most of the experienced vapers on the Forum I've tried many many atty's and just can't find a better one (no RBA experience yet tho). I know it's been covered in videos and on the Forum many times but in case someone missed them I just wanted to share my cleaning technique. I'm positive this is why I have such good luck. Every 6 to 12 ml of juice (day or 2) I clean atty by placing in a small pill bottle, add 100 proof vodka and swish around for 5 minutes or so. Blow dry, re-prime, and my atty is practically brand new each time. I vape 50/50 on my VV Grand, almost always RY4 dark type juices and never seem to have issues. Also, 357's hate being dry so I never ever let that happen. Given the cost of 357's I'm hoping this is helpful to some folks out there! Again, forgive me if this technique is obvious to you veterans!
