Australia(Ecigs not the movie)

hi all
just a few facts about e cigarettes in australia.
almost imediatly when e cigs were being intreduced in australia the federal goverment banned them from being sold in australia with nicotine content
this pretty much killed the first startup e cigs business in australia
funny thing is that you can buy nicotine inhalers at the chemist shop or even supermarket.
so why did they ban them?

i have my theories one is
in australia there is a combined state & federal goverment taxes of over 400% yes thats right!
to give you an idea each packet of 25s cost $19.00(australian dollars)
so they prefer people to die of cigarette smoking rather then let go of the tax money
i get very angry when they say its not regulated therfore its banned!!
why not regulate instead of banning a product that could save lives
e cig vapping is getting popular here thanks to people such as myself
spreading the news & demonstrating to people how good it is.
hope to one day get a few people & start some pressure on the goverment to think more of people & not just the money!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not so sure about Australia but here in the USA , you can dd the powerful lobbying influence of Big Pharmacuetical Companies and Big Tobacco and it gets even harder to fight the good fight!!!
Check the Campaigning area for links to orginizations that are active fighting that fight...Also keep making people aware of how it has helped you and you will see good news travels fast...Tell EVERYBODY that will listen!!!!

What scares me drew is the more I read the more I see they have no intentions of legalizing e-cigs and all the intentions to keep their profits coming, new york its 12 bucks a pack, they will never let that go.

Im hoping that if the fight goes well overseas (mainly US which is only just 'firing up'..) then perhaps AUS Gov will review legislation. The position all ecig'ers are in remains the same until we have some 'independent' and authoritative research results (both social & lab research) to backup the claims we already know to be true.
