Hmmm, interesting line of reasoning, this. Makes me think that if the government takes away even more freedom, then crime will be even further reduced.

Does the right to freedom include the right to massacre? Will the massacres stop if we say it's OK to go on massacres?

One could say people first started banding together for mutual protection against those who banded up to massacre them. It's sort of human nature to think things like "I really prefer not to be massacred." Hence we form societies based on such principles. Certain freedoms do indeed have to be handed in at the door of any civilized society. Freedom to massacre being among the first to go.

Nitpicking semantics work best in written form, not so much on a practical, societal level.
