Someone is sending me a 5v box mod to test out. I only have cartos from puresmoker. Does anyone know what resistance they are? And also can I use these in a 5v mod without em burning up on the inside like those freaky pics I saw on another post on ECF? .if I can't can u recommend a specific resistance? Or specific carto to buy? Preferably from madvapes or nhaler. Someone told me other was all universal but I got scared when I saw those pics.

Same thing for attys. I have 2 attys that came with a riva but done know resistance. I don't have a tool to check

I just get skiddish around new things and like to make sure I don't do anything I shouldn't.

Oh and just as a side note I'm planning on building a variable voltage, juice fed mod with a voltmeter on front of it. If anyone has experience with the voltmeter and VV stuff and is willing to be on a live chat to answer questions about wiring it all up pm me.

Cheers,
Neph

Chances are the attys that came with the Riva are regular 510 attys at 2.1-2.3 ohms - too low for 5 volts. You should email Steve to find out the ohms of the puresmoker cartos. The best carto I've found for 5 volts is Nhaler's 'mega 510 carto' (not the mega eGo carto) which runs at 3.4 ohms. I've never burnt one out and autopsies on used ones show no burning holes that you see with the KR8 cartos. Another option for the 5 volt would be the newer 3.0ohm E2 R4 cartos from Royal Smoker (see cloudsofvapor.com) that have no filler to burn - just chamber that holds ejuice and wicking that doesn't burn. Suggest getting the standard size instead of the 'XL'.

I have had very good results from Boge 510 cartos on my 5V PT. They are advertised at about 3.0 ohms, but every one I've measured was about 3.5 ohms. Of course, I do make sure they are kept wet. It is my weapon of choice for the pipe tobacco juice I make, which tends to clog attys permanently over time, and I am not as concerned about cartos with this regard.
