AVS Trouble

Ok Ill make this short. The problem is I am loosing the prime from the avs. If i close the CR and suck its like sucking a golf ball through a straw. If i take the mouth pice off and use a drip tip in to the 901 and suck the juice flows like normal. So i dont think the atty is cloged.

The HV901 is new because the last 2 attys had same problem and burnt out hafter 1 week due to not being wet enough. IMO. Set up is 901 @ 6.4 volts fresh liquid not over filled 50/50 mix

Thanks for any help

It sounds like comp is losing the prime when using the mouthpiece so then TRIED a drip tip and it worked then.

My question, just to clarify-

With the regular mouthpiece you close the CR, prime once or twice (yes it is hard) and then open the cr (how much varies, I usually start with a 1/2 turn and adjust if needed) and then vape until you lose prime?

Opening the CR after priming the atty is important, and changes how hard the draw is- more closed=harder draw and more juice should go in, more open is easier draw and less fluid goes in.

My mouthpiece prevents liquid come to mouth but let the air pass as usual. So I cant understand why a drip tip allow you to vape normal. If you vape better with a drip tip then keep it that way com but be careful of liquid in mouth.

Roger, as I have said before, we dont totally close the CR, its very hard to bring liquid that way to atomizer. We close it but not totally, we let a very small amount of air to come via 4 holes so atomizer is filled much better and with much more less effort:)

Ok just burnt another atty damn. now i got vk 4.5 ohm 901 atty in the avs and still same problem. What is going on?
I installed atty as i always do. Fill tank 50/50 mix. Top cap, top cap washer, mouth piece, 2 primer puff, open about the width of pinkey and vape. Then i lose prime close CR take primer puff and I get no draw. Normally I would get a very hard draw but could feel liquid filling atty as well hearing gurgling. Now I get no gurgling, and the draw is so hard like somthing is blocking the juice. Next I pull off mouth piece put in drip tip take primer puff and get fluid in my mouth LOL. Then put mouth piece back on and vape till i lose prime again.
I dont know if i have a problem with o-ring from mouth piece leaking so if i do it would cause me to pull air from the avs fliud tank and not through the atty. If this is the case i dont think i would get any juice no matter how hard i suck. Its got to be that or I have no idea what I am talking about. I am just using common sense hope iam right
:facepalm::?::facepalm::confused:

One thing I have gotten in the habit of doing that I SHOULD have mentioned before, comp:

After I fill the tank and put everything together I make sure the collection tank under the AVS is empty. If there is anything in there I remove it with the syringe I got for refilling cartos.

Then I put the AVS tank back on.

I had problems similar to yours when I first started getting the hang of my GGTS/AVS (Thread is around here somewhere) and what I found is that I was very slightly missing a few small things and it screwed me up.

My refill method now:
When empty and changing atty:
Take mouthpiece off, then top cap. Remove AVS tank and change atty making sure to put the atty washer on and snug the atty assembly back into the tank. MAKE SURE the collection tank is empty and CR is closed, then install AVS tank. Fill to just below threads.
Install top cap, mouthpiece o-ring and mouthpiece.
Remove AVS tank and check Collection tank- remove any juice that is there.
Reinstall AVS tank, prime with a couple of inhales and then open CR ring one half turn. Check draw- it should flow but have some resistance.
Vape.
If the draw seems to hard or wet, open the CR by half turns until it feels right and does not flood or get dry.

The symptoms you posted above are exactly some of the problems I had not long ago, and I have had very few lately. I seem to have gotten the hang of it after a couple of weeks of struggling.

To tell the whole thing, man- I had THOUGHT I was doing things right for about a week before I posted any questions, and I had THOUGHT I had gone back to the beginning and done it exactly the same as the first couple of days, but.... I somehow kept missing something and having problems.

I even tried 808 cartos which work but I get the taste of burning poly, even in my AVS.

But I stuck with it and went so far as to READ throught a list of directions each and every time before I finally seemed to get the hang of it.
