Awful chip on Zero clone (Hotcig)

Hallo, Folks.
A week ago, my friend bought from Hotcig a new Zero clone.
Everything was perfect, until he get it into his hands.
(he has some problems with registration, after he become ECF member, he will join this thread) next is his text.

Bought this mod directly from Hotcig before it appeared on fasttech.

First, Hotcig tried to convince me that the chip is Yihi authentic, but then agreed that it’s a clone. Received it 2 days ago. I had a feeling that it doesn't give 50 watts since i had a genuine SX350 mod on hand with 30 watts software and it was much powerful. Tried to test the voltage with voltage meter.

Surprise mother....er!

It gives 2.6 volts constantly, no matter what wattage you put. Tested with single coil, 0.54 ohm. From 10 to 50 watts with 10 watts increments.

Results was:
10w - 2.58v
20w - 2.58v
30w - 2.58v
40w - 2.56v
50w - 2.60v

Other thing! I have left fully charged battery in the mod and switched it off for the night (not the sleep mode). In the morning it wouldn't switch on. Changed the battery and voila, it works! Tested the battery and it had only 1.6 volts left! This .... drained the battery from full in 7 hours!

Now, Hotcigs telling me that i am stupid and cant use the mod. And sugestong me to contact Yihi to resolve this issue!
My friend modder, asked Yihi about this and they told me that this chip is a clone and Yihi never had a deal with Hotcig!

If someone of you have an account on ECF or your local vaping forums, please post this information.
I really don't want someone get tricked like i did..

And your friend cannot exchange for good mod?
May well have nothing to do with Original/Clone and simply be an internal issue involving this unit.
Defects do happen in manufacturing and are not an indicator of overall design/functional Quality.

Hotcig asking me to send this one back to them with DHL only. The parcel from Moldova to China will cost around 70 USD... It sounds stupid...
And there is no guarantee that the one i get instead will be better

When you buy sight unseen your taking a big chance , especially buying before it's even tested and available to buy in the States , lesson learned i hope .

I have been following threads on a number of Zero mod clones and everything i have read so far seems to be a thumbs down . Most admit they won't keep the chip anyway and are just buying the enclosure to put a chip in themselves.

At least Hotcig is offering to replace it , most people do not buy directly from China for the very reason your facing , shipping costs if it needs to go back . Thats why people buy from vendors as they will replace and you don't have to pay crazy prices yourself.

I knew that wasn't a real Yihi chip! Glad I was skeptical. At least when you buy from FT, you can return it.

I hope you get your money back. If you can't, replace the chip with a real one, and you should have a nice mod.

Next step:
Advise them you will be glad to return DHL - they Just need to send you a Call tag(return) at their expense.
Did they ship DHL to you or Post?
If DHL, contact them and report as Received Damaged<internal>

Im grabbing one of the SX Zero clones strictly to throw in an authentic SX, the SX350 if itll fit, not sure it will though so going to have to take measurements.
The Hotcig SX chip got pretty good reviews though, you must have gotten a dud =(

Just put a real DNA chip in it and be done with it...its what I would do with a China clone since postage from Canada would be prohibitively expensive anyways.
