Not sure.
Wonder if the Rum will leave a sugar residue on the coil.

Many say use vodka or 100% grain alcohol (Everclear),
if you are cleaning coils with a consumable alcohol.
Do not think they leave much of a residue or taste.

On the off chance you have some Bacardi around the house, why not put some in a stainless teaspoon and let it evaporate. If it leaves more residue than tap water, it's probably not as good as plain water except that it will evaporate quicker.
