I know i may sound over concerned, but im giving good ole rayon a go in my KF4 again.Ive been reading up on cotton from Japan again and ive decided to use rayon just for my peace of mind.May be too late if it is contaminated with radiation as ive been using for a few months.Rayon is still pretty good tasting, but i find the first few vapes taste weird where as Japan cotton is the best tasting.Think ill that new cotton out now,i forget the name again

UPDATE:

What an awful taste,i have to rip out the rayon, after vaping organic Japanese cotton,no way i can go back to rayon.Ill have to try the Drako cotton.

Dude, you have to wash your hands very well before handling rayon for wicking. It will pull any oils off your skin and foul the wick. If the wicking material was handled much in the past or stored improperly it will retain a foul taste.

I always wash my hands and dry with paper towels.

I am pretty sure Japanese Cotton like Shiseido and KGD is not contaminated with radiation ... they would have some serious big trouble on their hands from the women who use it for applying cosmetics.

vaping doesn't even put a dent in the amount of Cotton being used by women for cosmetics.

Did you stuff the coil with rayon tightly enough? It has to be packed in until it squeaks, if it isn't you could get a dry kanthal hit, rayon compresses. If you're getting the nutty rayon taste, you can actually go with a little less in the coil, get the wick and coils fully wet and you should be in flavor heaven. If your coils are packed so tight that you get the nutty taste and you don't want to fix it the taste does go away after you vape a few mls and the rayon compresses slightly. IMO when its done right the flavor is pure and the longevity is awesome - I ran over 100mls through the wick I just switched out without even cleaning it once.

When I switched to titanium wire, I also bought some freaky fiber, an organically made cellulose fiber.
I have to say how good it is, so much better than organic ... cotton.
Once you get it right, the wicking is fantastic.
It always absorbs the right amount of juice, and with Titanium and nickel, in my VF DNA40 the taste is excellent.
When I first used it, I used too much and wasn't impressed.
After a bit of experiment I found you only need about half the amount.

yeah that nutty taste is yuk, its a little hit and miss for me i get it on 40% of wicks, i burn a couple of wick fulls worth of juice through them to get rid, But HeavyRocker apart from what you say about what might be connected with the ... cotton the cotton tastes as strong on the flav with your none oxi wire youve converted me to, i thank you
