If you have been rebuilding protank type coils, you can try the upgrade to the kanger subtank mini which has coil heads designed for rebuilding:
Thank you ed but I cheat. I buy my premade coils from fasttech :D 50 1.8 4 wick coils for less than $4.00. Probably less expensive if I totally made them from scratch but this works for me.

oh ok, good; but as people who used to use cartos can testify, once you rely on somebody else manufacturing replacements for you, eventually those heads are going to become harder to find, lower quality control, and probably more expensive.

You are so right. I have at least 300 of the premade coils right now ready to be installed in my heads. I do have a few rebuildable drippers in my someday may have to use box and the wire to rebuild them so if worse comes to worse I'll still be set :D

Mattie, someone posted this link a couple of months ago. This site sells insulators, gaskets, and o-rings:

http://clonecores.com/product/60-piece-protank-evod-mt3-rebuilders-kit
I bookmarked it and immediately forgot that I had done so  I have a feeling it is the same folks that I bought from on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221913100728?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2661&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
I remembered this one after I made that other post :D

Thank you Linda

I still use cartos, and with the exception of "Bogegate" I have never had a dud. Bogegate lasted all of a month or two. Big deal!! I had plenty of 510 atomizers to vape.
The last bricks of Boge cartos I bought cost me 37c/carto.

But yes, availability has become a problem. Not because they aren't made anymore, but because a vendor doesn't make enough money off them. The same thing happened to my beloved 510 & 901 atomizers. They're gone from the shelves because vendors would much rather sell $50 sub tanks than a 6 dollar atomizer.
So what if the 6 dollar atomizer was a better vape.

On the plus side, because of online shopping, even though items like that might become rarer on store shelves, they will probably remain available online as long as there's a big enough market overall.

Most online vendors no longer carry cartos or atomizers. Hell, Keith even quit the 901s. http://www.empiremods.com/

I check into the new members forum from time to time but it seems I have nothing to offer them since I have no idea as to what they are talking about :D I do love seeing so many new folks coming in though as they discover that this vaping thing actually works :) and that there is something for everyone to find their happy place.

I know what you mean, Mattie. The last time I visited the new members forum, someone asked a question about dual claptons, and I just kind of slunk back to the tootle puffers thread. :D

Mattie! You are not alone! I still absolutely love my Evods and mini Protanks! I especially love that I can use the coils for forever by dry burning and adding a new flavor wick! And then when they give up all I have to do is a recoil rebuild! I am a very happy Tootle Puffer! But.... I also have my REOs and Provari to keep my ego and evod batteries company!

Not too far off from all that, although I've been gravitating more to my flock of KFs...

But always have at least a few T3S and PT (1, 2 and Davide varieties) filled and on spinner types as well. Like you, Mattie, all my bottom coil clearos are single, so other than the PT ones not going into the T3S, all interchangeable. (And when I need to bump an order for "free" shipping, I'll add a few T3S heads :) )

The minis are just too small for me, but suitably coiled, they all vape great.

I hear ya. Always funny to walk into a vape shop with a Reo and an LR 306 setup, or an SVD 1.0 and a Protank V1, that or a K100 and an RSST on top of it. The blank looks from the newer and/or cloud chasing young pups is priceless. Still trying to keep up with just the newer equipment hitting the market is a chore in its self, while the lingo changes is another thing, especially like when I started at 70/30 meant a 70PG not a 70VG

Yes exactly! It was the same when I started also. I don't know why people don't just say the number with the content. Like 70VG is so much easier than saying 70/30 and much less confusion...

that's true; saying '70VG' actually says it all unambiguously, whereas saying '70/30' is vague as well as redundant.

Are these ligit or clones? Seriously considering ordering a set just to have a few made and ready to go when needed.

You are not alone. I just got back into vaping about a month ago after falling off the wagon for about a year. I had vaped for almost 2 years before that. I am completely lost in all the sub ohm/box mods/100+W/temp control, etc.

I went to check out the local vape stores this weekend after i exhausted my remaining supply of cartos for my arsenal of IBTanks i use on my Provari. Surprisingly, there are 3 stores in my little suburb, and visited all of them. Not only did not a single one have any cartomizers for sale, but of the 20 or so people managing/working/hanging out/shopping between the 3 shops, only 2 of them had heard of a cartomizer, and not a single person had ever used one...
