Can you believe some people are trying to compare Brady to Joe Montana with the 4 Super Bowl Wins if he wins Sunday. I say People get over yourselfs there will never be another Joe Montana.

Well I just couldn't let this pass. Tom Brady compares very well with Joe Montana. I loved watching Montana back in the day but Brady is his equal at the very least. Here are a few stats for comparison...
Tom Brady

TDs 300 Ints 115
completion % 63.8
Passer rating career 96.4
Wins/Losses 124/35
YDs/Game 248.3

Joe Montana

TDs 273 Ints 139
completion % 63.2
Passer Rating career 92.3
Wins/Losses 117/47
YDs/Game career 211.2

They both have 16 career playoff wins. Montana is 4-0 in the SB. Brady is 3-1 and it took a miracle catch on top of the helmet to cause the Pats to lose. So, how does Tom not compare to Joe?

Montana has never lost a SuperBowl, and he didn't rely on the kicker to win any games for him. The Quarter back today has lot tons of rules that protect him so the defensive can't get to him. The Pats are cheaters(like that didn't come out a couple of years ago about them stealing plays). Bill and Joe didn't need to cheat to win. And the game with the Raiders when they made up a new rule just so the Pats/Brady could win(remember that one? what was it called the no forward pass rule or something like that. You Mass fan can trying to equal him to Joe all you want but you put any true football fan/commentors to the test and you know they will say he doesn't come close to Joe. Now if you want to put him in the top 10, then OK with Bradshaw who also won 4, Elway, Marino and Staubach then do that. But you're dreaming if you can say he's better than Joe Montana one of the greatest Quarter Back ever.

The stats and facts don't lie, I don't particularly care for Tom Brady, but he's obviously surpassed Montana. Plus Montana had the X factor....

( _ _ _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ ) <-----anyone?

Jerry Rice didn't play all 4 SuperBowls with Joe he came later. Sure he was a X Factor but go back to the first couple of S.F. SuperBowl wins he didn't have a All Star team, Joe was the driving force on that team. I'm not totaly against Brady I think he's a great Quarterback but when people start saying he as good as Joe or his equal then I laugh. OK I am just a girl and I see what I see nowithstanding those stats. Thats all I got to say, its just my opinion. I waiting for the Giants to beat the Pats Sunday. Anyway you look at it, its should be a good game.

SF beat Cinci in SB 23 20-16 they scored 2 FGs. SF beat Cinci in SB 16 26-21 they scored 4 FGs in that win. So, did SF rely on their kicker to win?

I'll grant you that, today's QBs have it a lot easier than those of earlier times.
The Pats are cheaters(like that didn't come out a couple of years ago about them stealing plays).
That whole cheating thing was so overblown! It wasn't illegal to tape practises, you just had to do it from a particular place. From everything I heard and read most all the teams were doing it but the Pats got caught.

That would be the tuck rule. Well you can say that you don't like the rule but they didn't make it up for Brady. It was in the rule books long before that game.

The following quote is from an nfl.com blog. NFL.com Blogs » Blog Archive McNabb: Brady is best QB of all-time «
"When Donovan McNabb isn’t pondering his own football future, he’s endorsing Tom Brady as the best quarterback. Ever.

“I’m going put him as the best of all-time,” McNabb told NFL Network on Wednesday. “I say that because, obviously, the Super Bow wins. Two, if you compare Joe Montana and Tom Brady and the athletes that (they’ve) played with on the outside, as well as the tight end position and the run game, (Brady) stands out because he had less talent. Three, Tom has just been consistent all the way through.”

It’s difficult to make a case against Brady, who has the records, the wins, and the Super Bowls. He’ll join John Elway as the only QBs to start five Super Bowls, and with a win would tie Montana (4-0) and Terry Bradshaw (4-0) as the only QBs with four wins.

“When it comes to being elite, it’s about winning Super Bowls,” McNabb argued.

The lack of a clear-cut winner makes the conversation even more compelling. But at least McNabb doesn’t harbor any ill will toward Brady, whom he lost to in Super Bowl XXXIX."

Now if you want to put him in the top 10, then OK with Bradshaw who also won 4, Elway, Marino and Staubach then do that. But you're dreaming if you can say he's better than Joe Montana one of the greatest Quarter Back ever.

You call Montana one of the greatest QBs ever and I agree but if you don't include Brady in that group you need to do more homework.

You didn't read everything I said, I said he's in the group as one of the great Quarterbacks but still he is not equal to Joe Montana. I am sure you want to think that that cheating thing was overblown but they paid a heavy fine for it, I didn't see any other team get that fine.(yeah they got caught too). Hey tell me so everyone is suppose to take McNabb's quote as the absoulte. I don't think so. He discounts Joe and Bradshaw who play against tougher teams. You know after review of that play with the tuck rule that that was bull, you Pat fans know it and its still talked about today. Its like saying Hank Aaron was a better player then Willie Mays and we know thats not true but if you take people from where he is from they would swear to it. Same argument with Joe and Brady. Oh well everyone has their opinion but I think when all is said and if the history books are open up as of today and even if Brady wins Sunday, I think most will side with me, haha. Good conversation. So I hope your team wins and comes through for you, we will see Sunday. OK thats enough from me on football talk, nice talking/exchanging opinions with you on the subject.
