Wow. I have no idea when the last time I posted here was.

I took my husband in for routine bloodwork to the VA on April 23, and he was only discharged yesterday. He was medivaced to Nashville and we are still here. He had a liver transplant on May 30th, and many complications later they have allowed him to come back to the hotel where they have put me up. We may be here until September or October, but at least I have finally achieved internet!

Bah. Ordered earlier in the week, was supposed to get here Thursday I believe. Checked tracking and said it had been DELIVERED... to a different city (my area code is 25514, they delivered it to 25524). Idiots.

Called the PO in the town they delivered it to. Gal on the end gave me one of the biggest "Duh, I'm overpaid with state benefits" runaround speeches ever concocted, and said it was on the way back through and should be here Friday. I'm not stupid, I knew better. It said "Delivered"... as in the idiot didn't even look to see that the package was in the wrong town entirely before dropping it nonchalontly in somebody's hands.

Yet I waited, in desperate hope.

Friday passed without the package. Then today passed without the package in the other mail. So I finally tracked down the USPS head office number. Explained the situation to the rep on the phone. She instantly insisted the sender messed up the 2 & 1 in my area code, trying to slide the blame off their cumulative backs like a pig oiling and mudding off flies. BS. The confirmation e-mail I got from BWB clearly states the same address I've always ordered with, clean as a whistle... right as rain.

So, she takes a big whopping amount of info from me and starts a file for it. Asks if I'd like to have a person contact me back in one business day (yeah, Monday, yay). "Sure," I said. "Try to find a person over there with more sense than a dead possum, if that's okay." She chuckled. Nice to know I could brighten up her day. Tried to ask her how bad the credentials had to be to become a rural route carrier, if reading to know whether you're even delivering to the right city is a qualification (because, let's face it, that mail is screwed if it's delivered and not showing a return in their servers yet). Ignored, she wished me a good day. Good, indeed.

Now, it's different to have a sorting center send a package to the wrong town's PO, but that PO should see that--oh crap!--this isn't the right town at all, and send it back to the sorting center at the very least. No, straight up delivering without abandon or care to the wrong house in a wrong town is ludicrous.

I'm stomping harder than a 3-p******* billy goat in rut. I apologize, but thought I'd just rant and get it off my chest before I went to get my shotgun out of the cabinet and start culling idiots (which, let's face it, this world could use about right now). Sorry, been a bad weekend already and it was just icing on the cake. Should stress that I'm not blaming BWB in any way, but can't believe how bad the USPS has become since closing surrounding sorting centers and having everything in a 3 gazillion mile radius come to the same one. I don't know what they do there, but it sure isn't worthy of our tax dollars. Dangit, just dangit.

Hope everybody else is having a good one. I guess I can at least be thankful that the week-long power outtage and heat wave has passed for now. Nah, still dangit lol.

And the best to you and yours, Expat!

Thank you..it's been an interesting time, I'll say that. He was as sick as two dogs for a while, but he is getting there at last :)

I am sorry to hear the first part, but happy to hear the last! He should be grateful you forced him to the Dr. as it sounds as if it was a great thing that he went. Men, including myself, can be very stubborn about that sometimes. :(
