I have been slowing down on the amount things are reviewed and such of late. A good indication that I dont have much in the way of reviews appearing near the top of the reviews of late. At one point it was 6 to 8 on the first page. I started this more of a hobby than a job and I understand growth. I have hired some to take the burden off of me and it does help but the amount of orders coming in on a daily basis is pushing the time frame back to an unnexceptable level.

I am seeing what I have to do to adjust things to make it reasonable for everyone and the only way I can see to not get buried in orders is regulate what comes in. As things get closer to a balance I can almost give a definitive time when the site will be open for orders. I opened the site up on Friday and by Sat morning had enough orders to do for Monday and Tuesday.

I understand business 101 so to speak and anyone can say I should do things this way or that way, but unless you are in my shoes one never actually knows what goes on behind the scenes, but when I get an influx of emails as to why there orders have not been shipped, why are things always out of stock it tells me there is a issue. I uphold my customer service with high regards and wish there was a easy answer and fix to all of this but I cant just say hey Joe I want you to do all my packaging, mixing and bottles for me and problem solved. As we all know life is not that easy and things dont always work the way we want them but we learn to adjust and figure out a resolution.

I opened the site yesterday for 2 hrs and had enough orders for Wed workload. How is it conceivable to allow it to run constantly and expect to keep up with orders. I have always said if it gets to be a burden and more of a job than a Hobby I would cut things back to a acceptable level I am comfortable with.

I never expected to grow the way I did nor think anyone else anticipated it this way either, but things have to change and until things can be sorted out to work accordingly I can only do my best to fix it.

It's fine Don. As you said, only you can actually know what is going on and what can be handled to meet the high standards you set.

You know........we can adjust. Point blank, we can. I would rather see you at a pace that doesn't kill you and allows you to put out the superior products that you do. I won't name names but anyone that has a complaint should think back to certain vendors that used to have decent juice (Don's is far beyond just decent) and they started putting out very poor quality just to maintain. Does anyone really want that? If they do, I guess they should go to those vendors.

That is talking only quality of liquid. Now let's address Don himself. I don't want him killing or making himself sick over this. I think he is way too nice a person for anyone to put his health and sanity above getting our juice. Most here know all this and feel the same so I guess this is directed mostly at people who don't know yet.

For those that are new and are worried that they won't get a chance to order. Know that this is a very unselfish group. You will get your chance.

Oh.....Don.....if you see this you don't have to take the time to answer my P.M.

hahaha I love it!!!
It's funny but it's not, I know how I have gotten in the past when I can't get my fix!!!!
without going further into detail and risk the wet towel from e-joker I'll zip it.
BTW, I hope everyone who is on scraps gets an order in tonight.
and +1 for phor's comparison to the reo ordering situation, I didn't see any upset folks on that site when they could only order one of those in one of 2 ten minute blocks a week!!!
vape-on gangsters!!!! lol

Adirondacks for help in the North

I just came to a realization. ( I know, I know. Do you see a big smoke cloud over WI?)

Anyway, I understood what srcowell was saying as far as feeling guilty, we probably all understood it. But the way Don is doing it, makes it so we don't have to feel guilty. He chose the perfect way of handling it. If our order goes through, we know he can handle it since he is managing what he can handle. No more wondering if "my" order just drove Don over the edge. See..........PERFECT! :)

This thread is very entertaining. The "crew" is now working through their own 12 step program in order to remain calm and collected while Don deals with the pains of growth. :?: All I can say is this.....WE brought this on ourselves! WE could have kept our mouths shut and kept this golden egg our little secret, but NOOOOOO!!!! We had to go blabbin' to every soul we know that has one of these vaping sticks hangin' out their mouths that we found the Mecca of vaping pleasure. lol Really though, as long as Don isn't stressed and it isn't taking a toll on him physically, I'm tickled to see him prosper and I'll gladly wait a little longer to get my orders. I certainly have no desire to go shopping elsewhere. Hang in there Don, we're still your cheerleaders/fanclub! :2cool:

This is good stuff. Almost as good as Don't juices. Here's my take on the whole situation. Most fit the first part. Have seen a few other posts that have made me chuckle and they fit the 2nd part.

1. Man is very busy. Man only open shop a few hours a day. Man can keep up with the workload. Sounds like a good plan, man.

2. Customer want it now. NO, customer want it yesterday. You're closed?!!?!?!?! How can I place my order?!?!!?! Only once a day at 7:00pm?!?!?!?! Customer don't like that plan. Customer always right. Let me tell you how to run your business... blah blah blah. Although they have said it in a much nicer way. The meaning is the same, but they say. " I can't depend on my go to e-juice producer not being able to take my orders in a timely fashion. Although I hate to do it, I will just not continue to depend on them going forward. Sweet jesus, really? Is it that much of an inconvenience? We are so spoiled sometimes....End of rant. :)

Well said, Sir, well said indeed! IMHO, your remarks in no way qualify as a rant, you are simply telling it like it is. It might also be worth noting that the challenges Don and other quality vendors are currently facing are very much typical of any nascent industry or product.

And while those challenges can be, well, challenging and or frustrating at times, each and all would do well to remember that as this industry matures and certain vendors come to predominate you may find yourself looking back at this time and these circumstances somewhat wistfully and rather fondly...
