In '55 my hometown - Putnam, CT - was almost done in by a hurricane and flooding. I still remember parts of it. Our house was on the river.

I just got thru reading an article about people in nyc taking the storm too lightly. Ummm....those people need to look at some before/after pictures of a little area called Bolivar down here from Hurricane Ike. Whole town, wiped away. Or read about the underground tunnels and parking garages in Houston when tropical storm Allison decided to visit and sit on top of the area for a while. Those people are freaking fools! Sometimes the storms blow thru quickly, but sometimes they don't. Be safe!

Yeah...really , I have lived here my whole life ....except for when I was in the navy, and was stationed on the east coast for all of that(Charleston SC and Groton CT) ....I was 3 when Camille came thru Texas and then up to Virginia and the neighboring county lost half its population , it tracked that far across land and still killed people here, I was in charleston SC when Hurricane Danny came thru (my name BTW so I had a new nickname for a while) and walked out of the barricks into the bay(literally) and no one even told us to leave ..go figure, on the plus side I did get to meet an alligator up close and personal.....LOL and yes it really happened..oh the memories!
So yes they need to think about this seriously.

Laura & all the crew...Don gave an early heads up on his vacation time , thanks Texas, for finding his post about it & reposting that post. I hope I don't have to hear anyone say they are close to running out of any of the juices at any time during Don's vacation,because you were all made aware of the site shut down way in advance,with plenty of time to stock up. Also there is a swap thread to ask about swapping out juices..lets please use that thread to barter or trade out any juices...Thanks Whiskey~

Hey Whis. Still working. Still have a job (Thank God). Just waiting for the storm to hit here in CT. I, along with all others, are not looking forward to the damage and problems that it will cause. Also, have to go to the oral surgeon today, because I had to get a couple of wisdom teeth pulled a couple of weeks ago....OUCH!
