Thanks Rar and all for your concern. Everything is OK in Derby CT, which is between New Haven and Bridgeport. I am TOWARD the Southern part of the state and a little West. Like I've said, near the shore, but not on it. The Western part of CT and the shoreline is what looks to have been hit the hardest. At last listen, the news said that about a third of CT residents did not have power, however, we do. The East toward RI (where the casinos are), did not look like they got anything in comparison to the West side of the state. I'm not exactly sure how well off the East is, but the news hasn't really reported anything major happening there. Since 1/3 of the state is w/o power, many peoples phones, computers, etc obviously will not be working. Also my TV, phone, and internet are with ATT, and I've had some flickers, so maybe their wireless could be out too. There are trees down in many areas of CT as well. Hope this helps anyone that has friends and family in CT. ******Rain has tapered down to almost nothing falling in my area, but wind continues to gust pretty good at this time.

I just this minute read that the storm is 10 miles west of Danbury. Hang in there Kevin and everyone.

Everything is good as of right now where I live. There are over 700,000 people in CT that are w/o power. The West side of CT has received up to 8 or so inches of rain. I just have to deal with the remaining wind and gusts right now, probably for the next few hrs or so. The West and the shoreline have been hit with the most. Thanks again for your concern!

Thanks Kevin for a great update...I hope that helps Sash out .....Good thoughts for all the folks there...My sister in law is in Danbury...she is w/o power but is doing okay~

Good to hear that Whis. I just heard from ATT that there are over 2000 telephone poles that have been damaged, so that would account for the electric, as well as some internet being out here.

ob - They aren't answering phones. Cell won't work for my brother as his house is in a dead zone. Aunt and Uncle don't have cell phones or computers. If electricity is out internet won't work. I've already emailed my brother and SIL.

Stay safe, Kevin.

that is scary. I really hope they are ok.

Good afternoon sashwa. I hope that all your family in CT is OK. Like I said, the most of the damage has been in the West and along the shoreline. If there is anything that I can do for you to try to contact them etc....please let me know.
