Seabrook and Dee -
thank you for your insight. I think it's probably just detox. I haven't coughed up anything nasty yet (and i kind of hope i don't) as other people have said, but it seems unlikely to me that I would be having a reaction to PG a week after exposure to it. I'm taking Delsym cough syrup (co-worker's suggestion), which is dextromethorphan polisitirex - seems to be working. thanks for warning me agianst pseudoephedrine.
thanks for the warm welcome!

You know what is good for your throat would be slippery elm herbal tea. That would be a whole lot better than dex. poli. aka "Poor Man's PCP." That stuff is so dangerous to use that you have to be 18 to purchase it. Go to wikipedia.org and type in dextromethorphan polisitirex and see what you come up with, and I'll guarantee you'll never take it again. I'm not criticizing, I'm just trying to help you, as I know you're trying to detox. Another thing would be marshmallow tea, but yikes, I paid $18 a box for mine. Here's a link of natural herbal tea sore throat remedies if you want to take a quick peek. If you're preggers, don't do the licorice. It's late, gotta go sack out. Hope you make a speedy recovery. Blessings and get well wishes, Seabrook :) Sore Throat Remedies - Best Remedies for Sore Throat

Yeah, TOO MUCH at times lol.
It doesn't hurt that I have several MD's and RN's in the family either, although getting through Thanksgiving without having to hear about blood and guts is always a crap-shoot.
Congrats to your daughter, becoming a PT is no small feat what with it being a masters prepared field and all, I'm sure you're proud.
