Bad battery...what to do?

I just started using a Riva 510 battery last week that I had ordered as a backup at the end of April and today it no longer works. I also noticed a "pin" in the center of it. I thought these batteries are sealed? (the 2 that came with my starter kit are sealed) Anyway, what do I do, send it back?

The pin can be lifted slightly, try that as they sometimes don't charger due to this being pushed too far in. You can send a mail to the US address though and they will go through a warranty with you if it really is dead.

It's not dead. The light comes on when I push it. It just doesn't seem to be connecting to the attys. How do I lift the pin? Also, Abe, if I order new backup batteries, and I get Riva 510 SE, will they be the same as the ones that came with my starter kit? (sealed...no pin)

Ah, the "center post". I went to put one of my other batteries on the charger and, lo and behold, I noticed the center post from the bad battery on there. In my next order, I'll just order another one. No biggie.

Send an email to LF describing the problem you're having, the exact item that is malfunctioning, and your order number. This way the return/exchange proces can go through the proper channels and helps them keep the record straight.

Yes, it did. Thanks for the advice, but I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle of sending such a cheap item back.

I ordered another kit this morning. I'll be good with that. I needed some drip tips anyway.

I ordered my Riva Lite bundle a few months ago from LF and no problems with the center post or charging whatsoever...most likely just a dud.

I just want to add my input. Ty and LF is very good about honoring warranties. I've never had any issues with gettting a warranty replacement from them. Every problem we have had was resolved by Ty very quickly and with no fuss. Thanks Ty and LF you guys rock!
