Bad flavours and bad service can turn people off of E-cigs.

Hello everyone. Since I am new to vaping, I just wanted to tell you my story.

I live in Vancouver Canada and my first experience of e-cigs came when I went to the local 24hour convenience store, (Mac's) to find an electronic "fake" cigarette. After trying it out, I thought; "wouldn't it be great if these had nicotine in them?". Up to this point I have never even heard of e-cigs. This was only 2 months ago.

A friend told me that there are companies that manufacture e-cigs with nicotine.

I was doubtful at first, until I did a search through Google. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed with choices. So I refined my next search to; "best e-cig" and found a few sites that had reviewed many types of e-cigs. The bottom line for me was flavour. I decided to go with Green Smoke as my first e-cig. I went with the ultimate starter kit and it took 2 weeks to get here because of Customs delays.

The day my package arrived, I had stopped smoking cigarettes completely. I ordered more cartomizers and once again, the time frame for receiving the product was over 2 weeks, which created a new problem for me. I wouldn't have enough carts to keep me going. I found that the carts could be refilled so the only thing I was missing was the e-juice to reload them with.

So I did another search for e-cigs and Vancouver and found that there was indeed a local supplier, but they were located at a flea market. Vancigs.com. I arrived early Sunday morning to the flea market and found one person who sold e-cigs. He had only one type of vaporizer and one bottle of e-juice. I snatched up the 10ml of e-juice for 15 bucks (I know, I got ripped off) and it was J's Juice Marlboro at 18mg strength. I loaded up one of the carts right there and tasted... well... nothing. After spending some time there, I looked around for the other e-cig table and found an elderly lady setting up her e-cigs. This was Vancigs. I thought, nothing could be anywhere as bad as the last vendor that sold me the tasteless juice so I ended up buying a T-Rex Ego T style vaporizer. She threw in 2 10ml bottles of tobacco e-juice. It cost me 150 bucks.

What I discovered was that the e-juice tasted toxic. Nothing like the experience I was getting from my Green Smoke e-cigs. I tried the juice around my friends and the weirdest thing happened. They asked me; "What the hell is that smell?" I was startled to discover that my exhale of vapor had a very bad smell to it. I went back to the tasteless e-juice of J's Juice, and all of a sudden, it wasn't so bad. It was still pretty much tasteless which was annoying, but it was the lesser of 2 evils.

I thought, this is the best that Vancouver can do? This sucks! I wasn't impressed at all with my new T-rex T... All the flavours so far sucked beyond belief and was eagerly waiting for my shipment to arrive from Green Smoke.

I needed to find a good e-juice supplier. My next experience was with another Canadian supplier, CanadaVapes.com. I ordered 2 30ml bottles of "Canadian Smooth" @ 24mg strength. Looking at the reviews of the juice, it seemed like a no-brainer. I was going to get some great tasting e-juice! When it arrived, I tore open the packaging like a child opening gifts on Christmas, only to discover that this highly recommended juice had no taste... This sucked as well.

Was I spoiled by starting out with Green Smoke? I loved the taste, the vapor production, throat hit, and the whole experience of Green Smoke.

I am trying to find an e-juice supplier that is comparable to the tobacco flavour's of Green Smoke. I was ripped off of the T-rex T by Vancigs, since I found out that Appolo has the same product for less than half the cost. I have been disappointed to say the least about finding e-juices. I found a site called "................." but I can't even get registered because the process of registering is limited to US only.

At this time, I'm disappointed with the products available, except for Green Smoke.

I want some great tasting tobacco e-juice! Where the flavour is more than a hint of tobacco and lasts more than 2 seconds. Produces a great throat hit along with volumes of vapor. Green Smoke has that nailed. So far, they are by far the best I've had. I'm looking for alternatives.

Please help.

The steeping thing frustrates me because it flies in the face of sample purchase logic. If you want to try that typically 6ml sample out of the box, and why wouldn't you, then if you're lucky you've got 1 or *maybe* 2 sample attempts left. Depending on the juice usage req's of how you vape. So you steep it for a week or more and discover you love it, then you have to order more and wait however long you waited before again. Yes, you can order larger bottles if this bugs you, but it defeats the purpose of spending less until you're sure. Perfect world never gonna happen wish: Being able to purchase shop steeped juices that are ready to go and developed from the start.

I'm beginning to see they allure of DIY juices!

Stop buying tobacco flavors if you don't like them. Do you chew tobacco flavored gum? Tobacco ice cream? I bought a sampler pack of tobacco juices and I can't honestly say that I like them. Get away from thinking that it has to taste like a cigarette and a whole new world opens up. Try fruit flavors, coffee flavors, drink flavors, food flavors, etc. You'll probably never want the tobacco flavors again.

Hey there, just thought I'd chime in being that I live in Vancouver too. There are plenty of suppliers of very decent products and juices in BC and the postage will take a maximum of 3 working days (usually 2 if all goes well). Vaporgeek are based in Surrey and I have tried a bunch of their juices, I haven't found any keepers yet though, they sell all sorts of cartos, atties and hardware too. Nicfitnation are based in Gibsons just over the water, the 'Canadian Gold' and 'Whistler's Peak menthol tobacco' are my all day vapes right now. They also sell tried and tested equipment. I'm pretty sure Primo doesn't sell anything he hasn't personally vetted! Another option, not one I have used personally though is 'vancityvapor', people have told me that if you are in a bind and need stuff that day, you can even drop by and make a pick-up near downtown vancouver.

I recently plumped up for a provari and am currently using some 'stardusts' from vaporgeek using the above mentioned juices. I am in a pretty good place right now and hope that you can there there soon too!

Hello toot, and everyone,

Vancity vapor's owner is Jay... as in J's Juice.

The reason I like to have tobacco flavoured e-juice is the remarkable similarity to what I have been addicted to for the last 25 years. I've smoked cigars for many of those years as well. I have tried the candy flavours as well, and personally I prefer to vape something familiar.

I just love all three of Green Smokes tobacco flavours. They are remarkable. All I'm looking for is something similar in flavour to load up the cartomizers. Something good.... NO. Something GREAT!

Perhaps something that is even better than Green Smokes tobacco flavours...

When I take a nice drag of Absolute Tobacco, and exhale... man... I can taste the flavor for at least 30 seconds after and its bliss. All the e-juices I have tried so far, are so weak in taste. The taste dissipates in less than 2 seconds. Sure, I get the nicotine, which is absolutely necessary, but I want to enjoy the taste as well.

I'm not trying to plug Green Smoke, but if more e-juice creator's tried the tobacco flavours and attempted to beat their taste, you'd have a winner and as for myself, a life-long customer.

This weekend I'm going to let Jay try out my Green Smoke and ask him to make something like that, or better.

So far, they are the best tasting e-cigs I have ever tried. I want to refill those carts with a similar flavour and use my overpriced T-Rex Ego-T as well. Smoking that one in public doesn't raise any alarms.

I just figured that people would compete with e-juice flavours.

I don't know. I'm still very new to this, and so far I love it. I love my nicotine. Always have. Now I don't have to die because of my love for nicotine.

As far as the steeping goes with e-juices, I don't understand why more companies don't stock their main flavours and sell them pre-steeped. Or add popular flavours to their line that is ready to smoke. Its weird to steep e-juice. Its like buying beer that needs another couple of weeks to ferment. Oh yea! They don't sell pre-fermented beer. lol

The point is; if they sold pre-fermented beer, who would buy it? Then why are there not any e-juice companies with only a half-dozen fantastic flavours that are ready to vape?

I just don't understand.

Millions of Vapers, no pre-steeped suppliers of e-juice. Someone is going to create a major e-juice company. The demand is exponentially growing. The market is there, but no one as of yet wants to take the reigns.

Disappointing.

When you sell a flavor in various nicotine strengths, with various PG/VG ratio options, along with choices for extra flavor or whatever...
In other words, customized juice options pretty much negates the ability to have ready-made juices.

Having said that, there are plenty of vendors that do ready-made juices.
But don't expect to have any choices as far as customizing them.

You're going to either like them, or not, with no chance to make them more to what you are looking for.

One thing you will quickly discover about this vaping thing is that no two people can agree on any flavors.
What I like, you may very well hate, and vice versa.

I just looked at Green Smoke and their prices seem high. It looks like the hardware is the same as other companies but they are charging double the price. When it comes to their carts, it seems as if they are also double the price.

By the way, what is steeping and does it only need to be done to juice or carts as well?

Hey Kaz, welcome to the forum.

I know it's frustrating finding good juices. Ask for the list of Canadian Vendors by PM. It's in the stickies under the Canadian forum. There are a few Can. suppliers that sell samples, I'd suggest you go that route, then you don't waist as much money if you don't like them, & you can afford to try more flavors.

I know Jugheads in Alberta has samples & many of us Canuks love his juice. You may want to try some flavours other than tobacco too, you might be just as surprises as I was, with what you like to vape.

Good luck, and don't forget to check out the Canadian forum, tons of great peeps & good advice.

You just steep the bottles of juice. What it does is meld the flavors, kinda like aging red wine. The process can be rushed by placing the juice in a bowl of hot water for about 1/2 hour
