bad quality atomiser heads for "protanks" ?

Hello!

I have been vaping for 3 months now and I am really liking it when it works..
I have tried many different methods, but I would like to stick with the "protank" type for now because I don't like the idea of plastic tanks and the burnt taste and gurgling of the cartomisers. Also I wouldn't like to use any device which is much more hustle than the protank.

-I have many problems with the replacement protank atomiser heads.
I have ordered from many different sites and I realised that the atomiser heads are very low quality made.
Especially the anywape ones. completely useless for me, I am not able to wape any juice from them with good result, using my aqwa or my other protanks.
I have recently ordered replacement aqwa atomiser heads and I have received the anywape ones again. lol
I don't know If I can name the website here...
anyway the only atomiser heads which were great, were the ones that came with the aqwa tanks that I ordered.

I have been told that they are the same as the kanger or anywape by the vendor. (what is a lie. tested with 2 of my fellow vapers 10 times at least!)
the aqwa heads were are the only ones that are always showed the correct ohms on my evic, and worked for at least a week,always great vapour and taste.

From the replacement anywape (and other could be kanger or not sure anymore..) atomiser heads I am always reading different ohms every time I screw my tank on my evic. Very bad vape, bad taste, not able to put on higher voltage, burned juice, completely rubbish!
tried it with many different e-liquids.
I have 4 questions, hope some expert can answer it.

1. I would like to know if there are any high quality atomiser heads for the protanks?
(I have ordered kantal wire and wic today, not sure if it would work, will post the results..

2. if someone know where could I get the same atomiser heads that comes with the aqwa protank in the original case?
-as I am tired of buying new aqwa tanks just for the atomiser heads!


3. are there any good quality fruit taste organic or mostly vg eliquids with great vapour production?? the price doesn't matter as I am spending a lot already to find a decent one. and 90 present are unvapable for me.
( I have tried many of them, the only ones were great was the virgin v. and house of liquids organic range. The VV was my favourite 2 months ago but it changed and it is completely useless.
so I sticked with house of liquids papillon organic for now.
I have ordered all of them from the organic range but only 2 were good for my taste. but still happy with it
at least it was not a poisonous glue or chemical this time

so be careful! recently I have made a bigger purchase from the vv range from a uk vendor and all the liquids were horrible. All of them! returned it in the store and they changed it for me but it was the same "poison" Unvapeable. Ordered again from an other vendor, as I thought they haven't stored it properly but same results. horrible chemical smell and taste. I think it could be dangerous! I am considering to sending samples to a medical research institute or a relevant place or organisation for the sake of other vapers.

4. If there are any working alternative to the protank with not to much hustle, great vape production, non leaking than please let me know what is it. my budget Is max £100.

I'm having issues with replacement heads on my pt also . My vamo says low load .1ohms and doesnt work.

I would urge you to not waste the money or the time to try and economize by buying cheap alternatives to Kanger. Indeed, I was too frequently sold knock-offs. Take the time to learn how to do a basic coil for the Protank/3Ts/Evod.

It's pretty easy to wind 30g Kanthal on a simple 2mm instrument screwdriver. Get them as tight as possible. And a lot easier than I thought to thread 2mm (true 2mm) Silica into the resulting tight coil. If you can get/use a basic torch to heat and quench them 2-3 times, learn how to gently squeeze them into loose micro coils, adding just a few minutes, you can make up a half dozen (coils>torch>assembly) in 20-30 minutes. The three tanks can interchange heads so if you have a variety it's very practical and for me reassuring. Lot's of videos out there on building basic coils and microcoils. Forget hand winding wick, as inconsistent as the heads you're getting, as it is for most of us.

My best vape so far has been with loose micro coil wound with 32g Kanthal on a 1.75 i.d. and the same 2mm silica. A very slightly tighter wrap yielding about 2.2Ω. Lot's of flavor, lots of warmth at a relatively low and manageable 6W. But these small tight coils can also cape very hard. And, as I said they're relatively easy to build, even for a newb like me the first month I started.

As soon as I get a hint of muted flavor or loss of vapor output from my device I'm flipping them over to drop a new coil. Gone are most dry burns, gurgling, throttling and inconsistency particularly with the Protanks. Wrapping your own tight coils will add magnitudes of nuance to the flavor of your gaping and better the utility of your heads with just a little effort. Probably far less than you invest now in searching for a functional product.

I also had some troubles finding quality replacements so i started rebuilding.....this could be an option for you if you really like the protanks like I do......Once you get the hang of it putting a micro coil in there makes it 10 times better...

Discount Vapor has kanger replacement heads for ~$5 for a 5 pack. Always let a kanger coil head saturate for ~15 minutes before the first vape, or you can have problems and frustrations.

Definitely stick to Genuine Kanger ones. I've tried some cheap ones from FT and a couple of other places, but they all flooded or tasted burned/nasty. I usually remove 1 of the wicks. I use 80/20 juice, and noticed (I might be nuts) the vape tastes better somehow; I mean the juice isn't thick (higher VG content) so i shouldn't have to remove a wick, but that's my opinion. Just see what works for ya. I love the Protanks for simplicity and will continue to use them; getting into RBA's now.

Yup. I can echo these sentiments here. I got a few bad batches and it seemed that the heads would nary last a day.

Recently, however, they've been lasting for me. I'm on day three on a 1.8 that I have and day four on a 2.2. This is a big deal to me -- they have NEVER lasted that long!

I have also noticed that a month ago the heads used to contain four wicks, the new ones I have only have three. No more removing a flavor wick (which was the cause of so many dry and burnt hits).

I have found the coils need a bit of breaking in. I got in a bunch of 1.8ohm coils to try out and started out at 2.9volts. Great flavor and wicking and slowly worked up to 3.3 volts, which seems to be the sweet spot. No dry hits, burnt hits and nothing but great taste and vapor production.

I'll second the genuine Kanger heads; I also use them with the AnyVape Davide Glassomizer. I have a couple Kanger heads that I've rebuilt, but I'd still stick to genuine Kanger if I was swapping them out for a new one.

All I know is that when I used the Protanks, if I allowed 15minute saturation time, I could get up to 3 weeks of a coil, suck it down to the last drop, never a problem. Great beginners tank. But they do lack in flavor and vape when compared to a Kayfun or genesis style rba. But the PT is a good place to start. Gets one used to a sort of rba. Can rebuild them to, if so inclined.

Even though I'm mostly wrapping my own I keep some stock on the OEM's for comparison and emergencies. I just started with the 2.5ml "no glue" update that preceded the PTII. Definitely a major flavor improvement and I'm now good out 3-4 days on 2.2Ω head. Just a very tight space to refill with the thicker wall and the cross-bar. You need to be careful not to fudge the smokestack from the get-go. Mind you I'm usually rotating 2 or 3 of the PT's with my main vape along with my two other fav's.

Just curious, what version of the PT are you using? Anyone else on their coil life and version?

I use Vape Escape most of the time. they stock the genuine kanger replaceable heads and i've never had a problem with them...

Just curious, what version of the PT are you using? Anyone else on their coil life and version?

I only have ProTank 2s and Tatroe Tanks, which use the same coils. I change them after 4-6 refills on the tanks. I also rotate between a bunch of tanks, so none get constant use. Lower resistance and lower power seem to be best so far.

I get them at SunVapers, which buys from Kanger direct.

Yeah, makes sense. I'm seeing the difference with the PT 2.5. And I noted the differences when they split the 6/5 wrap with the 2.2Ω. I can't be certain it's all about their re-engineering but thought to ask. As good an explanation for me may simply be that I mostly vape 100% VG and Johnson Creek is known to muck things up. The 2-3 days I get on the factory coils is good. My latest wraps are running 4-5 days. When I hear the claims of "weeks" I'm prompted to conclude YMMV on any OEM head. Thanks for the comeback.

Dang, and I am so sorry I missed getting one of those cobalt blue Tatroe tanks when they were around. They were sharp. But I don't know if I'll make the move to the PTII either. I admire the integrated look and feel of the original design. Breaking the skin for a drip tip makes it feel like a clone to me. I just cant live with the confines of the smaller 2.5 or mini either. Conundrums!

I just got my first oddy, a 7ml Nautilus from OKC Vapes. Great service and quality product. Looking forward to an easier build with space it affords for rebuilding. I leave my coils in place once burned in and rewick on the head whenever I can. Interesting to see what'll be possibly on the oddy. It'll live on an EA clone once I get to it. There are a few atty's ahead of it needing testing on ceramic, wire and Nextel. Like I said, conundrum.

Genuine Kanger heads ONLY! If they still taste burnt with your viscosity of e liquid, remove one flavor wick and try again. Allow your new heads to soak up the juice for 10-15 minutes. You'll know the Protank is wicking right if you see bubbles coming up from the bottom of the tank. I have finally learned how to rebuild the heads myself and is a lot more economical than buying new heads all the time. Once you get the hang of it, it's really easy!

If you are looking for good organic e juice, try Virgin Vapors and Ginger's E Juice. Both good and higher quality. You really do get what you pay for with e juice.

thank you for the advice. I will order the kanger heads from vape escape or the other supplier suggested by the other poster above.

the problems that I had with virgin vapor eliquids was not because my atomiser heads, the problem was with the juice. I tested on my ego c too and it was tested by my friends also. Before that bad orders I only vaped virgin vapor and I was very happy with it. I still couldn't find anything that is close to it when it was good.

I also will try a rebuildable atomiser. they look promising.
