Bad Reaction... but to what?

I received my KR808D-1 from litecigusa on monday and proceeded to vape away for the next few days. I've been loading the blank cartridges I got with their Green Tea flavored 16mg liquid. Everything was OK. I noticed some night-sweats which I ignored due to some other medication that I'm on that produces the same symptoms on occasion. I also had a little bit of GI discomfort/gas on the 2nd day using it.

Last night (Wednesday), however, I was getting those burps that taste really horrible before I went to bed and I awoke in the middle of the night with horrible stomach cramping and pain and I vomited. I haven't touched my vape since then. I've felt really burned out and spacey all day.

I'm new to the whole vaporization thing so I'm wondering what might have caused this. Was it a bad reaction to the PG in the e-liquid or was it a straight nicotine overdose or a combination of both? I was vaping quite a bit those three days, so I was likely taking in more nicotine than I was used to (I used to smoke a little less than a pack a day). It's hard to say how much I was vaping, but maybe 3-4 cartridges a day?

Should I try switching to VG or just vape significantly less until my body gets used to it more?

I had to smoke analog again today, which sucks. The things taste horrible after three days of not using them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
Don't know, could be a bad reaction to PG. I would try and get some VG at the drug store, flavor it w/ the extract of your choice and try that. Works when I have no juice, even though there is no nicotine. You can buy some VG juice, cignot.com has a good selection of VG juices. (Juicy Peach is nice:))

It could be the PG, but really, I'm thinking nicotine OD. The sweats and vomiting sound more like nicotine.

Where is the juice sourced from? We had someone recently post about getting sick from Dekang juice, and when the juice was tested, it had a lot more nicotine than was advertised and the PG wasn't as pure as it should have been.

It's not a common problem, but the quality control can be a little... not what it should be. So sometimes stuff seems to slip by.

Get some totally different juice in at a lower nic level from an American source. It may not hurt to try VG, if you want. But honestly, this sounds more like a nic problem to me.

EDIT: +1 to Fritos. See a doc, too. But I'd stop vaping that juice right away.

I had the same problem when I first started vaping. I have a hiatial hernia and it caused a severe flareup. Have you had stomach problems before?

I have also other people complaining of stomach problems. I would try the vg first see what happens.

I know how you feel I almost gave up vaping myself. But eventually it did go away.

I wish you luck. Drinking lots and lots of water helps.:)

I'll be in to see my doc on Tuesday but my stomach feels ok today I'm just feeling tired. The liquid that I used was from litecigusa, they sell 10ml bottles of varying strengths/flavors. I was using 16mg strength.

I'm going to try using VG instead. What sucks is that I ordered more liquid on Tuesday (and a passthru, cartomizers, spare batts, etc). If it's the liquid that did it that's a real bummer. I wonder if they have some kind of return policy.

I'm not really craving much in the way of nicotine today which makes me wonder if I just overdid it. Either way I'm definitely going to be more cautious in the future. That really sucked.

edit: Yeah, it says they're sourced from the "dekang factory."

Don't open them, and maybe they will refund your money. If they don't re-sell them on the Classifieds here as a package deal knocking off a few bucks OR offering free postage. They'll be gone in a hurry. 16mg is a very popular mg strength.

Sorry you had such a bad bout. Hope you're feeling better. There is a poll here at ECF -- PG v. VG. 87 people said they were not allergic to PG, 3 said they were allergic. Although it's not common, maybe you are one who is.

Wecome to ECF.:)

My first bottle of juice from MV was a Chinese 24mg PG base. Within 3 carts my lungs were closing up and I was down to about 1/4 of my wind. (Total Panic) Obviously something didn't work for me. I went to a VG based JC juice and have not had those problems again.

No more Asian PG for this cat. What I don't know is if it was the PG or something else in the mixture. In my case a nic OD isn't likely.

DeKang juice tends to be oily, dunno why. I order a lot of juice from litecigusa. Shawn is a good guy, message him by putting in a trouble ticket on his site. Explain the problem, see if he can refund you. Otherwise, like mentioned above, sell them in the Classified section. Heck, I buy juice from the Classifieds all the time.

Per DeKang, I noticed my wife was having some issues... tightness in her chest, some pains, stomach problems. We lowered her nic level from 24 mg to 16 or less, and now she's fine. I highly suspect the nic level is not tested in the mixtures of DeKang juices.
For me, I'm used to smoking Camel Wides, so high nic levels are nothing. For my wife who used to smoke Lights, the high nicotine levels were making her ill.

Above all, see your doc. The fact that you are choosing vaping over smoking cigs is a HUGE step, and one that maybe you should do in increments instead of all at once. Check with your doc as the next step.

Just keep the juice if they don't want to refund your money, it can be mixed with VG and used unless you have a VERY bad sensitivity to PG. Too much PG makes my chest get red and itchy, and I feel short of breath. A 50/50 PG/VG mix is fine for me, though.

I would be very surprised if too much nic caused you to wake up and vomit in the middle of the night--minor nic OD symptoms go away very quickly. Most people (not all, but most people) can tell when they are getting enough or too much nic., but there are all kinds of odd symptoms for PG and VG sensitivity.

Many people also have similar symptoms when they stop smoking, even if they vape. Night sweats, vomiting, etc. If smoking that cigarette made you feel better or reduced/eliminated your symptoms, that might be the problem.

There is also the possibility that your symptoms have nothing to do with any of this.

What makes this confusing to me is that the people that have allergic reactions to PG seem to get rashes, shortness of breath and reactions in the throat / chest area. I never had anything remotely resembling that. If this had happened at any other point I would have wrote this off as food-poisoning because the symptoms were identical.

Maybe that's what it was. I've seen pleanty of new vapers make similar mistakes, including ME.

Maybe. I don't want to mess around with it until I see my doc about it. It could have been that I ate something bad that day. I was only experiencing occasional GI discomfort before the whole cramping/vomiting episode. I feel almost back to normal now. The fatigue/spaciness has worn off. I hope my doc can figure out what this all was, because if it wasn't the PG I've got 50 or so mL of juice that won't go to waste or I won't have to sell.

Anyway, I ordered some VG juice with a lower nicotine concentration from JuicyLiquid. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for all the help guys. This forum makes a good first impression. :)
