Bad switch on V2.

Yeah, I didn't dwell on the adapter issue in my video review of the Prodigy V2 (since it's not really an issue anymore) - is it really a longer post, to me it just looks like it is seated lower -- the 510 adapter female connection of the post is a lot lower than the wall of the adapter, where my previous one was flush. I recommended people pick up Brasso and Noalox... Especially the later since cross-threading is not covered under the lifetime warranty. A troubleshooting thread would be AWESOME! Thanks again Steve, I've been vaping all day at work on my shiny V2 -- cannot wait to get the Blueberry!

Surf ... Have you adjusted the adapter at all? snug it down, and back it off by a quarter turn.

I got it working, so consider it a false alarm. There are a lot of variable factors in any e-smoking setup, so it can be easy to think you have one problem when it's actually something else.

So, for now it's working fine.

i was having the switch problems to,had to push down real hard and wiggle it then it would fire,i opened up the switch and there was a little piece of delron on the contact,i cleaned it off now it fires every time,with vey little pressure,thanks for that fix,now it works just right

Question, would it be of benefit to also put a little noalox on the switch contacts as well since they are aluminum and aluminum does oxidize fairly quickly??

LOL ... Surf It is *Mechanical* Per say, so although there can be problems, 99% of them can be solved by the user which is nice, and they don't need soldering skills Happy you figured it out bud!

Hey RF ... Probably wouldn't hurt bud Although the tube and adapter/end cap are stainless, we use Noalox on those threads. Putting a dab a couple times a month on the contacts would probably keep them in tip/top shape much much longer

Same here. I'm still having an issue with my switch, which I think is related to the washer that sits above the metal ring on the switch's plastic shaft and though this is not what I'd consider a fault worthy of a replacement, I'd like to have a fresh switch waiting in the wings in the eventuality that this one actually goes south on me.

My V2 hits and misses alot. I do not like this at all. I have took it apart and back together many times. Right now,I am getting my Prodigy1 back out. It hits every time.

Until this is a solution to this problem.

I think I'll wait and get a V2 when I don't see posts like these anymore. I'm not very good mechanically and would wind up sending it back to Puresmoker for them to fix. Whenever I try to fix anything, I wind up breaking it.

My switch is also flaky. This has me Borchu upset.

I guess I figured that with all the problems with the Prodigy 1 switch that you'd have it worked out for the V2.

From my experience not the case. Mine fires sporadically. I even bought new batteries figuring that maybe my old batteries might be the problem.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my flaky Prodigy V2.

Some useful tips and troubleshooting ideas.

The only thing that really causes havoc with this device is the alignment of the switch. Keeping it where it needs to be when assembled. It really can't *fail* so to speak. I suggest giving the ideas posted in that thread a shot, and if you continue to have issues, I am more than happy to take a look at it for you.

This was a damned useful thread, as was the t-shooting one. Thanks. I was having intermittent problems, and doing stupid stuff like trying to screw the atty on tighter to rekindle the magic.

I'm ALWAYS hesitant to take one of these apart the first time, and then glad after finally doing it. Mine seems to be doing better after clearing out some dust and little delrin slivers [and one sizable still-connected shaving on the side]. I cleared out as much as possible with tweezers, and dusted out the inside with the end of a small toothbrush. ...Is the interior barrel of this switch something you'd take a Q-tip and alcohol to? Now I'm obsessed with wanting every particle of shmutz outta there. If I can take this apart and put it back together and still have it work, NOBODY should be afraid to dig in!

Atty placement [degree of tightness] does seem real sensitive on these, moreso than the V1. I can mess it up by removing and reinserting a cart, which unfortunately I do a lot since this is a juice monster, bless its foggy li'l heart. I *may* be going through attys faster with this... not certain.

I think it's a perception thing. I used to think that my V1 went through atomizers faster, but over time I think it's actually the opposite. They seem to last longer for me at the higher voltage. I think running hotter keeps them cleaner.

But realistically, they probably last the same at 3.7 as they do at 5v.

Felt like I should add in this thread too that my intermittent problem seems to have been caused by a little tarnish on the threads on the endcap and inside the barrel. I hit them with a silver polishing cloth, which emerged covered in black -- and the V2 hasn't had a fail in 2 days. It's back to its original monster self. Noalox is in my Amazon shopping cart now. I didn't think stainless could tarnish, but apparently it can -- and it took a few weeks to build up enough on those threads to interfere.

At least I know how this thing is put together now.
