Thanks for the kind words. I have a couple more in the pipeline as well as some becote that I can't decide what to do with. I've only got a small amount, so I might just use it for accents....but I'm tempted to make an entire box from it. Have to see what feels good in the coming days.
I should have a few more ready here soon. I've actually sold a couple locally, so I've been busy with that. Turns out it's a good idea to carry one around....never know what might happen.
I've also bought some buffing wheels. Gonna try and see if I can make em shiny like glass.......

Hmmm, the server I host pics on is a pretty reputable server, so I'd be surprised if that's really the case. Maybe it's an ad banner they have? Or your virus scanner simply misreporting something?
I've been working a bit here and there when I have some time. It's not a business for me, so it's not like I'm laboring each day....just when I can and feel like it. I have a couple almost ready, waiting for the finish to dry thoroughly so I can try the buffing wheels and see how shiny I can get em.

The crappy cell phone pic doesn't show it, but the new buffing wheels I have work really well. A nice glossy shine. And for the final piece, a layer of pure carnuba wax to give it more shine and protection.
But in the background there is one coming soon.....blue tiger stripes anyone? Another coat and some time on the drying rack and it'll be ready.....

Hey Ken, just thought I would drop by and give you a bump. I hope all is well.
Everything is good. The pic that Silentt posted is becotte I think....which is exactly what I have drying on the table right now. Should polish up nicely I hope.
I had to toss the blue striped one I was working on. It didn't fit together well enough for my liking. Sucks to throw away a couple hours worth of work, but that's the way it goes sometimes....

Another handcrafted hardwood mod, this one made entirely from Bocote. Click on the pic for a full-size.
Designed for an 18650 battery, with a sealed 510 connection. High quality button with a blue, built in LED. My new, slide-together design that seamlessly holds the whole mod together, the mod is finished with 3 coats of shellac to seal the wood, then 5 coats of clear gloss. It then goes through a 3-step buffing process to bring out the shine, and is given a coat of pure carnuba wax for a final layer of protection and shine.
$60 + $3 shipping (first class w/confirmation) or $6 shipping (Priority w/confirmation). SOLD!
First PM gets it!
Chances are this will be the only Bocote 18650 I make. I happened on the wood by chance and only had enough for the one 18650. I *might* have enough left to craft a smaller 14500 mod, we'll see.
