I filed (and won) a Paypal claim against fasttech about two weeks ago for non-delivery (lost by USPS). I was tired of fasttech jerking me around and was approaching the 45 day limit for Paypal claims.

I just attempted to place an order with fasttech and kept getting an error message, "Account is restricted." I raised a ticket.

In the meantime, has anyone else come across this situation before? Fasttech wouldn't be that petty to ban me for a claim, would they?

Everyone is getting that "restricted" at the moment.
Check the Fasttech customer forum boards and you'll see a couple of threads about it.

"It's a madhouse I tell ya! A madhouse!"

Thanks! I was hoping it was something like that. I noticed their server was down last night as well. I would be on the FT forums more, but I get this glitchy "can't send activation to that email" message when I want to activate my forum / review writing access.

I would assume they've blocked you. Pretty standard for overseas companies when you get paypal to reverse charges on them. If they "jerked me around" with a valid claim I doubt I would order from them again, but that's just me.

Yeah I kind of felt that way too. They just kept stalling on the refund/reshipment. I think they wanted to push it out beyond the 45 day, so Paypal could no longer have final decision rights on the dispute. Just speculating.

Overall, my experience with them has been pretty good, considering how many times cheaper their prices are.

GAWDDAMMAHT!!!!!

Account is restricted

They better get thier stuff wired right! This is BS...how can I order my Chinese direct junk if I can't hit the "pay button"

I have 3 packages from them saying shipped but stuck in HK...arrrrghhh

Paypal is the one "restricting" them...probably due to the daggum ignorant "hold" on batteries and crap!

This might be the reason
Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival 2013
Hi everyone,

Tomorrow (Sep 18) is Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, it's the second grandest festival after the Spring Festival in China. FastTech would like to advise everyone of our observance date, we will have a day off tomorrow.

Customer service and order process will pause tomorrow. We will come back to full operations on Friday, Sep 20, 2013.

Please note all dates are Hong Kong Time.

Thank you.

FastTech Team

It ain't their fault though that customs went all crazy...some dude probably got a new x-ray machine and wanted an excuse to test it or something...yay government bureaucracy

And the holiday thing...hey we have our national holidays...why should they be any different

Frustrating but gotta cut em some slack

Well technically that's for domestic claims, so it doesn't really apply. I wasn't blaming them that USPS lost it. Fasttech does give their customers a protection guarentee for a replacement when things are lost in the mail. Also I raised several USPS cases (3 or 4) that came back with the same result. USPS officially admitted that it was lost. Any further claim would need to be created by Fasttech against USPS. Considering I fulfilled all the implied duties as the customer (paying and giving correct shipping information) and the Fasttech protection guarentee, I believe 40 days from when I paid them and 30 days from when the package tracking status stopped updating is more than a fair amount of time for Fasttech to provide a resolution. Paypal deems any international shipment lost after 21 days of tracking inactivity.

Hmm what did you order? Apparently some orders are going through. I didn't order any liquids or batteries and still got the error.

So what you are saying is..because someone ELSE lost your package...the company that shipped it to you should have to foot the bill?

That's almost like saying, someone crashed their car into a telephone pole because they were drunk and you think the power company should pay because the pole shouldn't have been there

Unfortunately when shipping the contract is between the person/company shipping and the shipper. The receiver has little to do with the claims process. So yes it very much is the entity that shipped the items responsibility to file the claim and get their refund from the shipper. I recently had issues with UPS and it was just the same, in fact with UPS i was unable to get them to put the trace on the item and had to file an issue with the seller on ebay so that they could get the ball rolling. and upon UPS deeming the package to be lost I was refunded immediately regardless of the time it took for the seller to receive their monies back from the shipper.

The situation with the "access restricted" Paypal problem is now resolved. It WAS Paypal temporarily blocking FT's account, and because it was a holiday, the FT people could only physically see the Paypal message this morning, China time.

So no, unfortunately (yes, I said unfortunately, and that is my absolutely not humble opinion) FT did not ban you personally for sticking the USPS blame on them. I would have, but I'm a ....**, vindictive little old lady.

Place the blame where it belongs, on your postal service.
