I don't see why they don't just try to ban cigarettes outright if they are going to be so gung ho about it. That's where it's headed anyway, right? I think using kids as an excuse to ban everything is extremely lame and should insult parents everywhere. I will occasionally buy SNUS just for a small tobacco fix. The register tells the cashier to card me unless I look 40. If carding is done everywhere, I don't see how the kiddies are an issue. Someone needs to seriously call the FDA on the bullsheez someday and make them come up with an actual reason to drop the ban hammer on something. Blaming children and parents is such a sorry, outdated excuse.

If kids everywhere can obtain menthol cigarettes, I imagine that it's just as easy for them to obtain alcohol, porn, and guns. The obvious solution is to just ban everything. Lets all be Amish.

Geesh, next they'll start attacking the packaging, stating that it's overly attractive; no more pictures of pyramids, they're too enticing. Oh, and those pretty pastel lines on that package...sorry, gotta go, those will attract young girls 'cause they're "pretty".
The world's gone mad (which is fine actually, 'cause now I seem a little more sane).

I read on Yahoo last week an article , I believe it was England maybe, they are going to do exactly this Rappel ! The packaging on cigarettes will be plain white with no graphics of any kind, just warnings written on them.

Probably a skull and crossed bones I bet! Now that will get the kiddies interested. Just put the words "Bad for you, don't touch" on it, and every kid will do just the opposite....okay, well, I know I would have anyway.

The number of cigarettes I haven't smoked represents a lot of money. Multiply just half the number of cigarettes I haven't smoked by the number of people you know that vape (count all the people signed up on the ECF) and make that number count for the entire year. Lots of money is missing in cigarette taxes, prescriptions, nicotine gum, patches, etc. None of the alternatives worked for me which kept me going for more cigarettes AND an alternative. Noone makes money if I stay healthy. Destructive behavior generates income for lawyers, doctors, insurance companies, and many others. Cha-ching!

It's like you can hear me. The bolded part is my standard reply to "I heard they were going to be banned cause they're not safe, yada, yada". I'm like "oh yeah, you want to know their agenda, yada, yada". When people realize the huge money part in this, and the true motivation behind trying to ban the e-cig, they're like "oh, I never thought of it that way, yada, yada".

I'm having this Valley-girlish moment today.

i switched to menthol to deter "bums". i remember the year i switched, i brought 5 cartons of marlboro lights home with me, that should have been more than enough for my ex and me for a 4 week vacation. NOT. 5 cartons gone within a week. My ex wasn't even there yet, i had to call and tell him to bring more ($3.60 a carton at home, $6.00 up north)

Within a year most of my friends and family had switched too. But, when i switched back... i had no trouble making the change at all. i remember my mom giving me a hard time about smoking menthol and "how much worse they are then regulars" i told her i hadn't smoked menthol in more than 5 years. Oops, she had to find someone else to yell at.
