I just recieved my 5v from Jay today. It's a killer a regular fog machine. I have tried it so far with 901 and 501 atty's and both work great. I am waiting for the 801 carts I thought the atty's would come with blanks but didn't. So if you like the Bartleby try his 5v.

I didn't even know he had a 5v. Is there a link for that?

Yeah second that....and is it strictly 5v or do you have the option to do either 3.7 or 5v ? How much does it cost?

And just so ya know...when charging the battery in the regular bartleby, the on/off switch needs to be in the "on" position ;)

I emailed him as well and here is the response I got :

The 5v mod I make uses a 3AA box and a voltage regulator and has ZERO USB capabilities.

I charge $40 for the 5v. Your choice of 510 or 901 ( 801 if you send a dead stock battery )

Jay

Not really into the random $10 jump in price, especially since it has no USB function. The Bartleby at 3.7V is fine with me.

TBH though, that's by far the least expensive 5v or higher mod I've seen. I've been shopping a LOT lately. Would the person who bought it mind posting pics?

Oh I agree, no doubt, I just personally enjoy 3.7V vaping over 5V(except on a direct connect passthru). My 5V Prodigy is one of my most unused mods. Don't ask me why, but , on battery operated mods, the 5V experience just doesn't do it for me.

I happened to get a pic of the 5V Cybervex box Mod from Jay and have attached it to this post.

That's one advantage of a true 5V home brew box. Using a very inexpensive 1N4007 diode (Caesar says the 1A rating is fine to use) you can fine tune your voltage. These diodes are supposed to drop the voltage about .7V, but it has been noted that the can vary from about .4 to 1V.

I have had my 5v Bartleby for a couple of weeks now. I have tried it with a 501, 901 and just got my 801 atty's and carts. I personally like the 801 and the 901 the best. The 501 seems a little harsh. This is a great unit for the price.

coolone1,

Interesting on the 510 - can't wait to try a 5v bart. It seems you normally prefer the 510 right? Because I recall some problems with the 901 earlier.

My 3 week old bartleby broke today (well sort of). The tab snapped off the cover as I was changing the battery. Now the cover will not stay on without tape(which looks SO attractive). The tab is SO small I could not find it anywhere. I missed half the Eagles game trekking down to Radio Shack looking for a replacement that would fit and they had NONE(fun, fun, fun).I emailed Jay about 15 minutes ago and am expecting to see the great customer service everyone on this thread has expressed. I'll keep everyone informed. Happy Holidays.
