Yes the longer the wire the higher the resistance will be. I like big wicks like 3mm. rba/RDAs IMO are much much better on a purely mechanical mod. Otherwise you are limited by the current limit of the device which for the majority is under 15w. My current sweet spot is around 20w. Without a doubt you can get a great vape using a VV/VW device. IMO they are also much much easier to get setup on a mechanical as well. No errors and don't have to worry about little tiny momentary shorts you can just keep firing and burn right through them. I use to use a provari when i first started using RBAs and it got to the point where if i saw that E1 one more time i was going to gladly take the $160 loss to watch it shatter on my kitchen floor. even now if im building for someone that will use it on a provari i set it up on a mechanical and then put it on the provari

Well I have two mechanical PV's. My Silver Bullet & my (only used once) Omega . I was thinking of putting a small RBA like the D.I.D. Clone on my Omega, but since its a plunger type switch on it, I think it would be AWESOME with a nice chromed out rba on it..... Can you put a dual coil on an AGA-T2 ?

Sorry, I have to giggle... Talking about vaping & vape gear always sounds so perverted....(smile)
What do you mean by "little tiny momentary shorts" ? I have one of the older Provari's from 2/3 yrs ago. I need to send it in to have it upgraded, but I could never part with it, since a very kind ECF member gave it to me 2 yrs ago for my birthday. But yes, I get that "E1" on my screen constantly, so now all I do is vape 2.2 ohms & better on it , to avoid any problems.... I've been wanting to try a bottom feeder mod or try to get my hands on a nice box mod, but what little money I had, I spent on cartos. I might be able to pull one more rabbit out of my hat after I get my AGA-T2 & the drip tip I ordered today. My son graduates HS .....finally (smh) on the 15th & 2morrow is prom..... I just don't remember my mother going broke when I graduated....

Okay Vaping Buddies,
I have made my absolute last purchase until next month....
But I can't help a deal when I see one. I went ahead & bought myself a Gold K100 mechanical mod for $23 & a cheap, already assembled cobra clone to go with it. Thinking I should have gotten a Lgo ir iGo RDA, but I bought enough supplies to last me until July or longer. SMH... I try to always buy my stuff i bulk when I can. I may have went a little over board, but if I'm right I'll be saving more than half of what I spend after I get my RBA's. According to my math, the RBA's will cost me somewhere between 12 & 16 cents a day, And to think I was content spending $40 a month bcuz it was cheaper the real cigs. WOW, now vaping is cheaper than the matches I used to use when I smoked... The More I Vape, The More I love to Vape Life....

Do yourself a favor, if you're going to get into RBAs, and send your Provari in for upgrade. It's only $20, and you'll have it back in a week.

By "momentary short" I mean a section of the wick that may have the tiniest spot that isnt oxidized enough of it just for some reason making slight contact with the coil. On a mechanical it may not even show up or may just glow brightly for a quick second. Then as quickly as it came some oxidation builds up between the coil and wick and is gone. On a provari this will cause an E1 error, and in turn does not fire and build up the oxidation and fix the short. So the next time you fire it does it again, and again, and again. Thats why when you pick it sometimes you are moving the coil to a new spot of the wick with oxidation. A pick or prode of the coil is the best remedy for an E1 error on a provari

Yeah have to agree even with my v2 mini I find this e1 protection annoying to the point I want to get a mech. I have two C-twists I use to setup my AGA-T2 for hitspots then transfer to the provari. But lately no errors and learning SLOWLY but surely

i'd highly recommend getting a Vamo or a cheap mech mod for setting up gennies. with a Vamo, it can still be a pain getting rid of the hotspots, but the single-click resistance check IMO is well worth the $50 ($25-30 if you're willing to go direct from china).

as everyone says, mech mods make it easy: little or no oxidation required, just pulse the coil/wick to burn it in (this can be dangerous, so make sure you know what you're doing before you try it!). getting a mech mod is a slippery slope, though, you start thinking things like "what if i build a .7 ohm coil," which leads to "well, what if i build a .5 ohm coil," and maybe even "what about a .3 ohm dual coil..." then you start looking at all the pretty shiny mech mods on the market, and all the beautiful hybrids, and realize EVERYTHING costs as much or more than your provari for what really is no more than a glorified battery tube, but you buy them anyways...
